After watching the segment on ESPN, I think it's apparent that alot of people, including myself, have underestimated the intelligence of our new HC.......

Kiffin has figured out how to manipulate the media to bring maximum exposure to UT football, and to give us a big advantage in recruiting........

I wonder in the future, if the NCAA and the SEC will change certain recruiting rules, directly because of Kiffin, and the way that we are turning all these situations with secondary violations, the internet, and the media into our favor........

Opinions????

I think you're right on about Kiffin and many people have underestimated him. I believe he's been highly creative in using the media, internet, existing, and emerging social applications to further advance recruiting. I would expect a younger coach to do that because that what so many people utilize those things daily, especially younger people.

Kiffin was spot on about the NCAA secondary violations and recruiting. UGA has 6 this year and NOBODY cares!!! WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU!!!!! All of the attention UT is getting is because people nationwide have been, are, and always will be interested in TENNESSEE FOOTBALL!!! I love it, and the OTL piece just gets me more excited! The whole thing infectious. Coach O said something very revealing that "he's (Kiffin) ahead of his time and sees things faster than most people" and processes things very quickly.

I think we will all be back where we want to be again... back on top!!! There won't be any worries about NCAA BS because King Johnny is back in the mix to keep the "Tennessee Way" going strong on the inside of the university. GO VOLS!!!

I've seen his intelligence from the start.Day one.
That being said, I'm really looking forward to seeing it translated to X'S and O'S on the field.Keeping in mind that he was raised on X'S and O'S. Every generation has it's true innovators. Is Kiffin's this generations innovator?Maybe, just maybe. I think we will see an offense that is efficient, hungry to score and is physical. Will it be willing to take chances? Is there anything about this man that says boring?

Yes, it's funny that some people think that Kiffin is running around making all these "mistakes."

I'm sure he's made a few mistakes, but let's face it, the guy's very intelligent and extremely focused.......he's about 50x smarter than the average football coach......

So to think that he doesn't know or understand the rules would be very naive.......I think Kiffin and Hammy have outlined a specific media/ recruiting plan, and Kiffin has taken it a step further, to perfection, IMO.......

future rule change: effictive January 2011 (UT wins the SEC and their first BCS bowl game), all SEC schools are still required to report their secondary violations, but now are no longer allowed to report them publicly, but directly to top SEC officials, who will from there do absolutley nothing because they are powerless (besides keep them hushed).

secondary violations are a bit of a joke. you can do without them, but CLK is making them work to his advantage. eventually the big-wigs will catch on and see that Kiffin is just laughing at their rules and making UT all the better

We have already won a BCS bowl, FWIW...

By the title I thought you were giving a list, not giving your opinion of The Kiffin. My bad.

Tennessee already has a BCS Bowl win (the first one national championship one actually).

Kiffin's not the first one to do this. Tubbs did it at Auburn.

wasn't it Cadillac that he basically took the secondary violation to get him committed?

It's been fascinating to watch. I think some of what's happened have been mistakes, but even the mistakes he's been able to turn into positives. I thinks that's where the brilliance comes in. He's made some mistakes that come from being inexperienced and made them work in UT's favor.

The rest of the world laughs at you uncontrollably for your thinking that Kiffin intentionally commits rules violations so as to get media attention. Its just a ridiculous premise.

The truth is that 1) the rules violations are unintentional; 2) the rules violations are minor and will not result in any sanction. Past that, trying to turn this into some sort of Kiffin is smart theory is just stoopid (sic).

My understanding is that Kiffin is not even fully aware of all the NCAA rules (he has been quoted several times saying this). So, if he is breaking them, irregardless, that does not translate into intelligence (at least not to most) :good!:

totally agree. kiffen is a man among boys. an absolute genius. every move this man makes is premeditated to have a positive effect for UT football. even his negative moves. I bet he even finds a loophole to get a 12th man on the field. he is 2 steps ahead of everyone else in the world, playing them like pawns. even his failure at oakland was premeditated because he new phil would eventually be fired.

maybe, but I like my way better.
and while we're on the subject of intelligence, 'you ain't so bright' isn't correct grammar and is widely considered poor english. shoot for 'you aren't so bright'

Making up words doesn't exactly make you look intelligent.

He's got one of the nation's best offensive line coaches working as a freaking graduate assistant for him. He knows what he's doing.

I am going to relish the pounding the Gators are going to deliver to Kiffin & Co. come September probably more than any other in my 27 years as a Gator fan. And that's saying a lot.

Your fastidiousness for accurate spelling seems to be in direct proportion to the poster's ardor for Kiffen.

I would not be surprised if your joy turns out to be somewhat tempered by the games results.
