I am not sold on dooley yet, but a final judgement can not be made at this point obviously.

But, some of you are still seduced by the kiffin lie, which is that he was tearing it up in recruiting.

He wasn't.

How many qb's did he strike out on before landing bray?

Where were/are the lineman?

Some of you are slamming dooley in april.

Kiffin's recruiting had a lot of sizzle, but not a lot of steak.

Kind of hard to be sure one way or the other, since he never had a full recruiting year here.

Don't waste your time...too many mouth breathers on here making the rational, intelligent fans look bad.

since when did missing on recruits mean he sucks? And there were a few linemen who went elsewhere when he left. Kiffin's timing hurt more than anything. Not to mention it assured the players they would have their 3rd staff in as many years

why do gators and bammers think it's their job to "educate" the UT fanbase?

He is just giving an outside opinion that isn't jaded by blindly optimistic or ignorantly pessimistic views.

I see the reasoning *behind* the argument, and I'm giving Dooley his opportunities without casting stones prior to his first season like many....but please don't kid yourself with trying to rationalize Kiffin as a poor recruiter. We were lined up to land a potentially huge Top 3 recruiting class before he left and we were strategically positioning ourselves for a great class again this season.

Fans can be ridiculous sometimes to one extreme or the other, but I would hope the majority is simply P.O'ed because of yet another setback to our program. And as a fanbase I think it is possible to be upset/cautious without crucifying Dooley at the same time.

I don't think it's worth getting so worked up about though. It's just not.

yeah gator fans are famous for their objective analysis

Well that's a generalization if I've ever heard one. In all the posts I've seen, 99gator has been pretty fair...considering he isn't a fan of our team. He isn't just a troll coming on here to get a reaction.

When a gator is making more sense than a lot of vol fans, you know we are in trouble. Good post, 99.

I think chaz green is a vol if kiffin is still at tenn.

But, by and large, I don't think he was bringing in the lineman tennessee so desperately needs.

At least, not in the quantity needed.

Certainly not to defend Kiff, but getting a qb does require some groundwork, relationship building, just as getting other h.s. players does, but qb is a more sensitive position. That cannot be done in a single year. As for striking out on qb's, how many qbs did the former regime strike out on in the last several years? Many, including R. Clausen, Suggs, Coleman, Boyd, Bryce Petty, Stephens, Schaefer, and even Crompton, all either signees or commitments.

He was a master at PR and by that I mean selling the sizzle.

Results almost are an afterthought if you have everyone buy into the sizzle.

Glad he is gone. And I have complete faith in Dooley. It will take some time and his recruiting will be better once kids see his product on the field.

An attack on kiffin is not a defense of fulmer

Right now I'm the biggest CDD fan on the planet. He doesn't stink until he stinks.

Before CLK left we had Brandon Willis, Markeith Ambles and several others. CDD did an excellent job keeping this class together, and I'm hopeful that he is an excellent recruiter, as his history shows us. CLK put together a tremendous recruiting staff, and they were tearing it up in recruiting, so I don't see how that was a lie.

Even with some minor setbacks, I'm confident that CDD will keep it rolling.

Kiffin is a liar, plan and simple and I'm glad he's gone. However, he can recruit. Ed Orgeron can recruit, they both have proven track records of that.

Do you still have contacts on the inside? What are they saying?
