The key to making a bowl game: Peterman

Ok so playing Pete seems to be an unpopular choice here. What if I told you Nathan peterman is going to be the starting qb next year?? Thoughts?

Coaching malpractice..... team and program will take a major step backwards and Jones puts his job in jeopardy in year 3..... 3-4 wins maybe if he stays healthy and starts all 12 games.

playing most, if not ALL of the Chattanooga game. I understand that it's homecoming and that the senior QB should get the start, but in reality, Nathan Peterman should be able to lead the Vols to a W over Chatt.

3 series without Worley at the helm most likely cost us the game Saturday against UGA. We're an injured Worley away from finishing 4-8/5-7. We must keep him healthy to become bowl eligible.

Let Worley play the 1st quarter of the Chatt game and then put Peterman in. The kid needs a confidence booster after his disastrous appearances against UF (2013) and UGA. The experience could go a long way if something were to happen to Worley mid season.

Coach Jones, if you're taking notes from the Volnation Coaching Academy, please play Peterman.

100% agree. Allowing Peterman zero time with first team, then throwing him to the wolves in ridiculously bad situations is no way to gain experience. He needs to gain a feel for the offense without three blitzing defenders smashing him to the ground within three seconds of the snap.

UTC has a DL Tull that would start for UT. He has the ability to get to our QB, especially the way they have blocked to date. I agree with the OP but not as an endorsement for NP. I wouldn't make the change until we were up 21 points as I don't think UTC can score more than 17 against our D. With our most glaring weakness being our OL, whoever CBJ determines to be the 2nd string QB it is highly likely he will get more meaningful reps this season as Worley continues to get roughed up. CBJ would do well to get the backup QB as much training as possible without hurting the final outcome of the game.

I'm for Peterman and Dobbs taking the majority of snaps in that game, unless Worley comes out hot. But he could throw 3 TDs in the first quarter then sit. What concerns me the most is that Peterman is #2.

I am not so sure Peterman could start for UT Chat in this game... I honestly don't think Peterman should even be allowed to dress for practices anymore... He's THAT BAAADDD!

I see that a lot of you are making the same comments about Peterman as you did about Worleys first game appearances.

Maybe we should get the kid in an easy game and give him a real chance to succeed, no?

Peterman does need more game experience. He seems to get rattled easily. I would like to see him get plenty of playing time during Chattanooga also. I would also like to make sure Worley doesn't get hurt during a blowout. I still remember Chuck Webb ending his career during a blowout. (I think it was UTEP and they were already beat.)

Peterman is not ready for prime time but he should be. He didn't look ready to play vs. ga. Look for a QB battle next year.

If he plays most of the game we will lose imo, he does not have it between the ears and is a practice warrior. He looks like he has never played in an actual game most of the time he is on the field, completely lost.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that he really hasn't played an actual entire game since high school in 2011? Add up all his minutes, and it isn't a complete game in the last 3 years.

I actually like this idea with a modification or two. Let's get a nice lead first--maybe mid-second quarter--and then play Peterman and a bunch of freshmen and other backups.Avoid injury, fresh legs for Bama, and get some experience and confidence. Good idea!! Unless he screws the pooch.

If we beat Florida, we probably come out flat as a pancake against UTC, and struggle to put them away until late.

Two things. One, less is more. Two, no. This was told to me by Peterman.

I want to see Peterman play this weekend. Not due to an injury, but for other reasons, primarily to get the gator monkey off his back.
