The Key to a Bowl win

I think he was saying Milton threw a bomb on the 3rd play of the Vandy game that put TN on the goal line leading to a score4 plays into the game. Or maybe he forgot? Some people just need to nit pick for whatever reasons. If Milton had hit 30 of 31 passes, there would be 10 threads on that 1 incompletion

Hahaha.
He'll never hit 20-30! So your argument is TRASH!!

What makes something funny or not funny (or somewhere in between) can be complicated. This had a chance to be funny as a well-timed post in the right thread. It's not quite clever enough to stand on its own as a thread starter. Too much setup and not a big enough payoff, IMO.
Taking a few minutes to check typos and grammar are really important in the delivery, as well. Nothing screws up humor like having to try and figure out what's being said.

I think he's saying if Milton throws it from Knoxville he would hit Squirrel in stride in Miami. I think it's still an over throw. We'd have to have made the Fiesta to be in stride and that's not happening. Just have to get the run game going.

We will establish the run and short passing games and take long shots every so often. If he can develop decent mid range accuracy he can stretch the field and make safeties have to drop back which helps the running game. Milton and our offense has the potential to really stretch a defense. GBO

…so, essentially, you’re saying takeaways and rushing TDs to keep the ball out of his hands?
Outside of the Vanderbilt, I wasn’t impressed with our running game. Second, when our secondary gives up 300+ passing yards then we can get beat by anyone and everyone.

You need to go back and look at some of our games. We ran the ball very well. Put up some big numbers in the running game. GBO

177 vs KY
264 vs Missouri
152 vs SC
362 vs Vandy

Tennessee ran vs everyone in the SEC except Georgia

Of those games, Small had a 100+ yards against only LSU. Wright 100+ against only Vanderbilt. We don’t have a running back that can take over the game.

Tennessee doesn’t need to have one…..that’s not how they do it.

They don’t just pound it down your throat. Tennessee spreads you out runs and and runs then passes you deep. They use “depth” to keep it going. They run more than they pass. Eventually Tennessee will gap you.

Now Tennessee will pass it deep, then run and run. Do the same but in reverse. Use the pass to set up the run, in the end…….the deep passes (caught or not) and depth will start to gap folks with the run.

They didn’t even have to use Milton during the Vandy game. When they use him that’s just another option.

We all saw the candy game. Don’t pretend. He was still missing just as bad as 2021. I love Milton. Just calling it how I see it
