Wishing and hoping for something doesn't make it happen.

It's no accident that I post much more here than I do on the football board because I enjoy our basketball program much more than I currently enjoy our football program and Im not speaking about you all when I say this because I learn what I learn about our program here but I'd strongly bet I know more and follow this program much more than 90% of the state.

I care and care deeply about Tennessee basketball and I personally believe Blackshear is the difference in us not skipping a beat this year and not even making the NCAA tournament.

I just get the vibe that this young man is enjoying the love he's receiving and is either gonna be a blue blood like most every other kid in America wants or he never intended to leave Virginia Tech in the first place.

Maybe Rick Barnes is building a top 25 program that can compete for these studs and pulls this one out though.

I hope so as much as any of you.

I think this is exactly what's happening, but I don't think he's headed anywhere. He's going to stay at VT. Just taking trips and enjoying himself.

So...like everyone else here, you’re talking out your backside and making an educated guess.

I also highly doubt you’re “more tuned-in than 90% of the fan base.” Take that Ben Stancliff mindset out of here. You’re not an insider.

KB wants to win and get drafted high, its pretty simple. Can Rick do that? Sure. No one ever said Rick is a bad coach, he just absolutely sucks in the NCAA tournament. KB has to decide if he is willing to sacrifice personal glory for a better chance at winning in March/April. And maybe he ignores all of that to stay home and play for a meh Gators team? Or not do anything and stay at VT which could be understandable?

Really interesting dynamic with all these teams...

If he was a high school senior, I would be much more likely to believe that, but you would think that he has been to quite a few places already. Sure, the food would be nice. Maybe he likes attention. It just seems less likely for a college senior to go that route.

Im not an insider and never claimed to be.

Knowing who we're recruiting and what we're doing as a program and such isnt the same as having inside information.

No one here has that and I learned that during Gruden gate.

He tested the waters with the NBA and now he's doing the same thing by checking out other programs. Seeing if he has something he'd prefer to VT. Enjoying being courted. 18 or 22 no matter. He's gonna enjoy the process. In the end, I think he's staying put. He's been everywhere and seen the offerings. If he's still not ready to pull the trigger by now, I think that speaks volumes.

I do tend to think the longer this drags out the worse it is for TN. If he’s so conflicted that he can’t decide if any of the options he visited is a good fit then it’s always easier to stick with what is familiar and safe.

Although it does seem strange because while he may know the VT campus, it’s going to be a lot different next year. New coaching staff, a turned over roster, etc. So it’s not like he’s going back to the same exact situation.

He's gonna be the bellcow at 9 out of 10 programs he could go to.

The program will work to fit his needs not the other way around and that applies to Virginia Tech too.

Not sure where I've been salty or how I've changed. I think it's mostly the rest of the forum changing since Barnes got UT winning more. A lot of people feeling cocky and enjoying being able to try to troll me.
