Big time praise from an experienced coach like Baggett.

Catching on at UT | Chattanooga Times Free Press

Vols wide receivers coach Charlie Baggett, who has coached NFL stars Cris Carter, Randy Moss, Plaxico Burress, Derrick Mason, Andre Rison, Muhsin Muhammad, Chris Chambers and Antonio Freeman, beams when asked about Hunter.

"Some kids pick things up better than others,” Baggett said. “Justin just happens to be one of those kids that’s kind of football smart. He’s very athletically gifted. I’ve been around for a long time, 34 years in coaching, and he’s one of the best I’ve seen at picking things up. It’s exciting to see the prospects of where he can go from here. It really is.

“He’s unbelievable. He’s one of the nicest personality kids I’ve ever been around. He wants to learn and is very willing to learn. He does it on the field. He pays attention in the classroom. If there’s such a thing as a whole package, he’s as close as I’ve ever seen.”

This kid may have a Carl Pickens type freshman impact but all at the WR position!:good!:

It sounds like he's going to be a really good one, but he's so skinny that it looks like you could just break him into.:birgits_giggle:

Were definately in need of a few surprise players that show up big time. Hunter looks like one that could potentially do that. I would really like to see a linebacker and/or someone on the Dline to showout and perform above expectations.

I think you could see B. Walker have a great year, but again his expectations are way up there

They need to just run Milton, Hunter, and Rogers long and throw it high. Every play.

I'm only kind of kidding.

We are just in desperate need for a big time playmaker to emerge for the offense. If we have that deep threat that can just make plays when the team needs them the most it will be huge for the psyche of this offense.

I hope J Hunt can be that guy!

UGA's A.J. Green is a bean pole too...but he is mighty good.

I like big physical receivers, but thin, fast, and athletic receivers are great in their own respect! Hunter will be awesome!

Agreed, take a look at T.J. Houshmanzadeh (sp?) and Randy Moss. Both weigh 130# soaking wet but they've got long reaches and hands of glue.

He might have a good year but that doesn't change the fact that the Knicks still suck.

He’s tall,” Baggett said. “He’s rangy. He has huge hands. He plucks the ball out of the air. He has very good ball skills. He can cut on a dime. He can accelerate. All the things you look for in a great receiver, this kid has. I’m just looking forward to coaching him and seeing how much better he can get.

Im excited about Hunter....seems to be doing better than Rogers at this point....hopefully he can step it up

I met Carl Pickens when I was really young and visiting the indoor practice field... he was the only guy there who actually went out of his way to hang out with the kids, ended up racing him in the 100 and playing touch football.

Also, where are Les Miserables?

Rogers and Hunter are both atheletically very gifted. Milton is the type of receiver that brings that physical presence with his large frame. All will have to play this year which will bode well for us next year.

Meachem Swain and Smith were a good combo, however ther was only one of those guys that was really a dominator (Meachem when healthy) on the field. I dare say that atheletically this group of 3 is better overall than the Swain, Meachem, and Smith trifecta. This will help out our QB's alot and hopefully since we now seem to have multiple deep threats at the WR position our runninggame may open up better than we thought.
