The Jarrett Guarantano hate

I think it's so stupid that fans accuse folks happy with winning as saying they are satisfied with mediocre and winning the tax slayer bowl. Nobody is happy being mediocre but I'm also not so naive and out of touch that I expect a 3rd year coach who inherited the worst roster in the history of our program to completely turn that bunch into a team that dominates other SEC teams on the road in just 2.1 seasons, especially games where Vegas puts us as only a 3 point favor. I'd love for us to be in that dominating position but we aren't there just yet but I'm happy we are to a point where we win 7 or 8 in a row even when we didn't play our best in 3 or 4 of those games. Sure beats the alternative and really the only thing Pruitt and JG hasn't done is beat one of the 3 main rivals, which I believe could happen this year and you obviously must think it won't with JG at center.
My apologizes if you thought I inferred anything about it being stupid that we won. I have no ill-will whatsoever for this young man, as I'm sure he is doing the best he can. And no, I do not believe JG can play the way he has the last 3 years and beat the top teams. He ends way to many drives by not being able to make simple throws to open receivers. I hope he proves me wrong and I'll be the first to say-so but he has to change dramatically. We have slightly different views which is ok and in the end, we are 1-0 as compared to the 0-1.
Go Vols!!

So then your saying SC defense is just as good as ours???
Nope, I'm saying our pass defense didn't play up to their capabilities and that I believe players being out played a role in that. If we simply turn 2 of their TDs into FGs instead the final score would have been 31-16 but that's a woulda coulda shoulda argument I don't believe in. I think our pass defense will be greatly improved as the season wears on. Keep on being you Mr. NegaVol!!

Can i ask you a simple question.... in JG high school senior year the Elite 11 stated he had accuracy and inconsistently issues, the same issues 5 years later.... how is that an improvement????

Tell us Mr NegaVol exactly how many passes did he miss on? You neverJGers look like a bunch of crying 7th graders to me. Keep moaning and groaning though, I'm sure your father's are proud of how their grown ass sons are constantly crying over JG playing QB while his team just continues to win.

Actually some of ut fans want more than just a winning season. We want to be comptetive with the upper level teams. How have we done in that category with jg. I want us to be able to compete with any team and I believe we have the talent to be competitive with anyone with good qb play.

You don't have to defend yourself against what is obvious for all to see. Don't let people make you feel bad about calling a spade a spade. Next year when all the good quarterbacks are drafted to the NFL and Guantanamo is making balogna sandwiches down at the homeless shelter you will no longer hear from these people.

Only problem is that jg will be back next year also.

Every fan base has a player that they dump on. And frankly, JG has certainly given Vol fans reason at times. However, JG looks different to me this year. Last year (early season) he was cronically indecisive. Sure, timing was off with young WR's leading to a terrible 3rd down conversion rate, but JG is far more comfortable this year and is clearly more decisive. I think this is a positive sign.
