So they couldn't get the new administration of Ukraine to go along with the corrupt old administration and he learned "today" that Ukraine opened up an investigation sometime early last year under the old corrupt administration? And he was told this by the old administration?

That's an easy one for me.
It's not Trump's policies that I find horrendously despicable, it's Trump. I could tolerate the same policies with any "normal" person. I think the impeachment of Trump would send a clear signal that we as a country can disagree on policies anytime but we draw a line that can't be crossed when it comes to electing a person who is a historically narcissistic, lying, amoral, divisive POS.
Find a descent human to represent and implement your policies.

Again I didn't know the Republicans/democrats could just pick someone. I figured they has some sort of line of succession like maybe the party leader of the house or something like that.

Nope. Nixon picked Ford as VP, after Agnew had to leave office. Ford took over and named Rockefeller as his VP.

Line of succession is VP Pence, Speaker of House Pelosi, President Pro Temp of Senate (Grassely, I think) Sec of State Pompeo, and then down the list of cabinet members. If you lose your VP, you name another. That is why Trump could get rid of Pence and run with Nikki Haley. I don't think he would though.

and screw all those people who've been getting raises, have their taxes reduced - all those people who have jobs now that did not before he was elected. All those who've been able to advance in their careers because of the tight labor pool.

their real life improvements pale in comparison to Luther's sense of outrage - we must consider his feelings first
