The Impeachment Thread

We can look back and collectively say the administration did have scandals, many of them. Some of them cost lives. Is this not true?
Not very many. The Obama era was mostly pretty quiet. You had the "Fast and Furious" practice of allowing licensed firearms dealers to sell weapons to Mexican drug cartel leaders so they could later arrest them. Holder didn't cooperate with the investigation. The Benghazi embassy attack wasn't as much a scandal as it was a public relations debacle. Hillary Clinton floated a phony motive to deflect from the obvious motive, of it being a planned for the anniversary of 9/11... So no, I disagree with your premise. The Obama Administration had much less drama...

4 dead Americans in Benghazi whose family was lied to is not a scandal? How many innocent people were guillotined again? Russian red line reset with Russia ( real Russian collusion )after his re-election. Using the IRS to investigate political opoenents? Lois says hello.

It’s because the media was at the foot of his bed waiting to be petted and stroked . I’d also argue that admitting he had no power to create an immigration policy ( dreamers act ) publicly , then doing it anyway with the pen , was a scandal that was not mentioned as one . He literally, by all accounts , abused his power as president with that one .

Edit : @BowlBrother85 ... if we were being fair about it , Trump would never survive having a Jeremiah Wright type as a spiritual leader . He would be accused ( and rightfully so ) of being an active member in a white supremacy group . Another “ scandal “ that wasn’t a scandal for Obama .

Spying on journalists
Spying on Trump

They really start adding up when you point them out . The left just doesn’t want to believe that Obama had any scandals during his time because they weren’t harped on 24/7 by the MSM like Trumps is .

If you or I were asked 3-4 years ago they would flow much more freely.
Campaign finance violations
IRS abuses

Spying on journalists
Spying on Trump
They weren't spying on Trump... you can make a very weak argument that they were spying on the Trump campaign by way of Carter Page, but even by Trump's own admission, Page was a low level staffer. By spying on journalists, you probably mean James Rosen. Not excusing anything, but that just didn't get much attention. I don't consider that a scandal. Most people wouldn't even know who the hell you were talking about.

Most people also don't know until someone points out that Carter Page was a known CIA asset either. Is because the media is not going to tell them.

They absolutely were spying.
Page was working for the CIA.
Page wrote a letter to James Comey three weeks before the FISA warrant was issued. He stated that he had worked with the CIA and named all the people in Russia he talked to. It would have been simple to check with the CIA. Comey ignored this letter and did not include it in his FISA warrant application.

Sharyl Atkinnson was spied on as well. These are just the ones we know about.

I hear what you're saying... but it doesn't change the fact that Page was a low level staffer for the Trump campaign who wasn't even with them very long.
