They're stalling because they want witnesses called during the Senate trial. They want to hear from John Bolton, Mike Pompeo and Mick Mulvaney, specifically... and the "this will hurt the Democrats in November" narrative is getting played to death. There is no evidence of that in the polls, but if you really think it's true, then this whole process shouldn't bother you.Not sure but he could invoke due process I think.
Plus, the Dems sitting on this is going to kill thrm in the next elections cause it’s obvious why they are stalling.

The rules for the trial have not been established, as of yet. The Senate does get to set the rules. Polls are showing that an overwhelming majority of Americans do want to see witnesses called during the Senate trial. If Republicans are trying to get through the trial with just opening and closing arguments? I could see public favor turning sharply against them in this process. The House doesn’t get to call more witnesses.
With all due respect, who cares what witnesses they want to hear from. They have zero leverage and McConnell has no reason to negotiate with them. They're stalling because they want witnesses called during the Senate trial. They need to stop stalling. House Dems set the rules in the House. They don't get to set the rules in the Senate. If roles were reversed, the left would be screaming to high hell. Let's just get this over with. It's all just political theater any way. They're stalling because they want witnesses called during the Senate trial. It is the House managers who serve as de-facto "prosecutors" and "defense advocates" during the trial. So, members of the House are still very much a part of the process. The opening and closing arguments will be given by members of the House - from both parties, of course. The House portion of this is over. Why hold up passing it over to the Senate? As you pointed out, the Senate will set the rules.
Seems if that were true, Nancy wouldn't be fighting the process. The rules for the trial have not been established, as of yet. The Senate does get to set the rules. But again, what leverage do they have? Do you honestly think Pelosi is just going to sit on the articles indefinitely? Do you honestly think that will sit well with voters? It is the House managers who serve as de-facto "prosecutors" and "defense advocates" during the trial. It is definitely political theater as you say, but how can you have a trial without calling any witnesses? I don't think it is a tenable position for Republicans to hold. I think the American people want to hear from those who did in fact have first hand knowledge of what went down... those people are John Bolton, Mick Mulvaney and Mike Pompeo. Let's get them under oath and if they do exonerate the President? So be it... we can move on to the acquittal. They need to stop stalling. House Dems set the rules in the House.
