The Impeachment Thread

Me too. I thought she was smarter than that and had more control.

I doubt that even a Tip O'Neill or LBJ could control the menagerie that Pelosi is trying to manage. I'd love to see the dim party split into real factions with most fading into political obscurity.

Like the constitutional and fiscal conservatives did with trump?

I wonder how the "squad" and the rest of the radicals are going to react when she refuses to step down as the minority leader in 2021?

“There have been 15 impeachments in the history of the country. Two of them were cut short by resignations. In the other 13 impeachments there were witnesses,It’s not unusual to have a witness in a trial. It’s certainly not unusual to have witness in an impeachment trial. The House managers have only asked for three witnesses. I think that’s pretty modest.” - McConnell (R - then)

It's cool though, can't wait to laugh at Trump claiming he's been exonerated by the Senate.
This crap is why none of them can be trusted. Every single one of them in Washington says whatever they need to fit the audience of that day with no regard for what they’ve said previously and no actual stance on anything, at least not one that stands the test of time.

LOL, you guys need to step outside your echo chamber and get some air. You're going to need to catch your breath before the gymnastics start since McConnell will be doing the same thing pretty soon - they are two sides of the same stinky turd.

Your problem is that while the dims are fracturing, the GOP is largely coming together. Yeah, there is Romney and a couple of others, Romney is just a turd ... polished but still a turd, and a couple of the RINOs like Collins are just wandering in the wilderness and always will be. Collins and other RINOs may be offended enough by this farce to join the GOP, but Romney is simply a spiteful POS.

Who is more spiteful, Trump or Romney?

Doesn't matter.
You view things so simplistically.

If my kid lies to me about taking a cookie out of the cookie jar it's different than lying to me about killing the neighbor's cat.
The lying is bad either way and will be dealt with, but the reason for the lie is also significantly important; sometimes even more so.

Clinton was impeached for a personal moral failing.

Trump is being impeached for official misconduct in executing his duties under the Constitution. Trump's offense is infinitely worse than Clinton's.
Clinton was impeached for a crime.

What criminal codes cover Trump’s articles of impeachment?

I can't wait to get all 31 members of the House on record who ran as not being loony far left partisan hacks.

Also I am already getting fundraising texts/emails

Cruz has to be the biggest hypocrite currently in the Congress. He has called Trump a "pathological liar," a "narcissist," and "utterly amoral." All of that was absolutely correct. And now he defends Trump after Trump used his authority over the transfer of the aid package to try to get a personal political favor out of the Ukraine.

To me, guys like Cruz or Rubio should just stfu. If they want to vote party line against impeachment, fine. But actually supporting such a low life as Trump is just the worst.

What Trump did meets the definition of high crimes and misdemeanors as those terms were used at the time.

I thought you guys believed in the literal words of the Constitution? What happened?
