Emails show an extensive effort to justify decision to block Ukraine aid
By Josh Dawsey, Carol D. Leonnig and Tom Hamburger

A confidential White House review of President Trump's decision to place a hold on military aid found hundreds of documents that reveal extensive attempts to generate an after-the-fact justification for the decision and a debate over whether the delay was legal, according to three people familiar with the records.

Asking the American people to learn quid pro quo and ex post facto in the same month is just too much Latin.

This could be huge (if true).

Newland address, but closer to Linville. Probably 4 miles from Linville post office.

Beautiful area. When I lived in NC I spent a lot of time in that area.

Grandfather Mountain Golf and Country Club is in my top 10 favorite golf courses.

I think one of us is being willfully ignorant, but I don't think it's me.
There are countless examples of people putting politics aside and doing what is right for the country. Sen. Howard Baker was a key contributor to the Watergate hearings. He was a good friend of Nixon's but never ran cover for him. He simply wanted to get at the truth... and he did.

I happen to have it on good authority that not all Tennesseans are asking these questions. Some of us Tennesseans understand that the whistleblower is no longer relevant to this story.

LOL if you say so. We'll look forward to your screeching all the way up until he is deposed under oath.

So you had to go back almost 50 years to find an example? That should tell you something.

Grandfather Golf is 5 miles from the house. Of course, I can't get on there, but Linville Land Harbor Golf is 2 minutes away, and Mountain Glen Golf is 12 minutes. Also, the golf course at Eseola Lodge is about 5 minutes. I don't know if that is just for guests or what.

Nah just look at the libs peaceful transition of power and all they've accomplished in bipartisan fashion for we the people the last 3 years....oh wait nevermind!

He is relevant in that he may be just a spy in the White House, and not a whistleblower at all. Vindman could be the actual source of information, and then use Ciarmella as the supposed whistleblower. If they can keep the "whistleblower's" identity hidden, then they can use Vindman as a secondary source, and they can't connect him to a broader conspiracy to try to impeach the President.

To be fair to him, I think he pretty clearly chose that example for the direct comparison.

Does that mean Dems always run cover for each other since he had to dig back to a GOP example?

Sorry, couldn't resist the dig.

Honestly, I stand by my opinion. It's been a long time since country was priority over party for either side.

The GOP: We hate snitches who blow up our illegal schemes.

Wow. That is quite a theory. Did you come up with that on your own or read it somewhere?

Your house is in an awesome area, 1972.
