Makes sense. I'm just curious why there isn't an official app, developed specifically for sensitive communications. Seems third-party apps could pose a risk.

Everyone has been wondering the same thing. But if it was developed it would be contracted out to a third party anyway. Another reason why it hasn't been developed is that if you are in State or DoD and work with a NATO partner you can communicate with them on a U.S. only app. Whats App was the only way for us to communicate with the Polish, Georgians, Czechs or Britsh for example..
