The Impeachment Thread

The Pew Research Center is regarded as being fair to both sides of the aisle. Here are some Interesting poll numbers which they have just released regarding the impeachment of President Donald Trump:

% of Americans surveyed who think that the Senate Impeachment Trial should result in:

President Donald Trump Being Removed From Office: 51%
President Donald Trump Staying in Office: 46%

% who say that during his time in office, or while running for President, Trump has done things that are:

Illegal: 63%
Unethical: 70%

This poll was conducted among 12,638 adults in the U.S. on Pew Research Center's American Trends Panel.

They lie by omission. They lie by commission. They simply lie!
Can you seriously imagine being led around by the nose-ring like these dolts in the vagina hat cheering section?

As a matter of whether or not military aid was used as leverage against Ukrainian President Zelensky's willingness to perform a political campaign favor for President Donald Trump by appearing on CNN and announcing an investigation into the Bidens, the issue of the Democrats having voted against the aid, is completely irrelevant and excuses nothing. It's absurd logic to think otherwise.

Adam Schiff and the other House Managers from the Democratic Party have been anticipating what the House Managers from the Republican Party will be using as a defense tactic. The Republicans will try to change the subject to the Bidens. The Republican House Managers will be citing de-bunked conspiracy theories from the Russian talking points of their disinformation campaign as a means of deflection in order to change the subject from the main question of whether or not President Donald Trump used military aid as leverage against Ukrainian President Zelenky's willingness to perform a political campaign favor for him by appearing on CNN to announce that he was opening an investigation into the Bidens. The last part is a joke. All of those issues were going to be raised by the defense anyway. It is smart to get out in front of them.

Except the Star investigation included a real event, and a real crime rather than a fantasy hit job made up by people who didn't want Trump as president. The house in the Trump impeachment didn't investigate a thing; they simply threw innuendo into a pot and called it fact ... a crime. Their lockout was pretty similar to how Obamacare was written and passed. You and your loony lefty friends would be winning VN if the rest of use couldn't write anything.
What crime was that?

No there was an independent counsel in President Trump's situation. Only difference is the Dems were furious they couldn't impeach over Mueller's findings and then had a CIA hack Eric C go to work.
What???? They are completely separate events. Trump provides multiple reasons for investigations.

A government investigation isn't what caused him to lie. It was a civil suit filed by Paula Jones for sexual harassment. He perjured himself and asked Monica to perjure herself. Monica ran her mouth to her friend, Linda Tripp, who decided to record the conversation. You can argue Whitewater was about politics, but Republicans didn't force Bill to have an affair with an intern and lie about it under oath. They didn't file the sexual harassment lawsuit that led to his perjury either. All these years later, and the left still blames Republicans for something they didn't actually do. They weren't that smart. Bill did it to himself, and ultimately, he got away with it. LMAO at the assertion the right pushed the investigation. It fell into their lap because Tripp recorded conversations with Monica.
Are you serious?
Starr veered off of the Whitewater course when he realized he was coming up with nothing and jumped into the Paula Jones investigation.
And the Whitewater investigation was completely based on right wing demand.
Plus, you never answered the question.
How far into the Starr investigation did Clinton commit the actual crime?
They weren't investigating him because he had committed a crime.

Broadcast networks' impeachment viewership falls short of soap operas, study says

Perhaps the Senate impeachment trial of President Trump is not dramatic enough because ratings on the broadcast networks failed to exceed the average ratings of daytime soap operas, according to a new study.

ABC, NBC and CBS dedicated its daytime programming this week to the newly launched impeachment trial, which meant that popular soaps like "General Hospital" and "Days of Our Lives" were shelved. However, a study from NewsBusters suggests the broadcast networks would have been better off airing its normally scheduled programming.

According to cited Nielsen data, CBS averaged 1.52 million viewers on Wednesday, which was Day One of the opening arguments made by the House managers, while ABC averaged 1.29 million viewers and NBC averaged 1.26 million viewers.

The daytimes soaps easily overshadowed the impeachment ratings. According to NewsBusters, CBS's "The Young & The Restless" has been averaging 3.7 million viewers during the 2019-2020 season and "The Bold & The Beautiful" averages 3.15 million viewers. ABC's "General Hospital" averages 2.15 million viewers while NBC's "Days of Our Lives" averages 1.95 million viewers.
