The Impeachment Thread

No he's not. There is no reason to even discuss witnesses until Nancy hand over the paperwork or appointed the managers.
Sure he is. So you think McConnell isn't discussing the implications of Bolton's statement. You're not that naive.

Legitimately impeaching the president without one Republican vote. And doing your job in a secret bunker where Republicans were repeatedly told they could not ask certain questions nor call witnesses? That sounds fair. And if they voted to dismiss it all today I will be totally fine. Eventually the shenanigans of Shift will come out. And once again it's not the senates job to gather evidence. That would be like asking the 12 jurors to find more evidence in a trail they are hearing. You are a special kind of ignorant. LMAO
Your analogies suck.
You're basically saying 12 jurors can say, "we refuse to hear that testimony".
If their role is solely that of a jury, then they have no say over what testimony is presented.
Make up your mind and then come up with a better analogy.
I'll give you one as an example; you saying someone is "a special kind of ignorant" is like Jeffry Dahmer saying someone is "a special kind of pervert."

Sure he very well could be but until Nancy hands over the paperwork and names managers it's a moot point.

More like Dahmer saying, "someone is a special type of delicious."

Of course. But this is all about the wisdom of Nancy's delay. It seems more and more to be a wise move.

There is no wisdom in her delay. She's trying to bluff a losing hand to someone with 4 aces.
Not sure where you are getting that, unless you view McConnell's only objective to be "clearing" Trump without a trial.
And if that is McConnell's only objective, then Nancy's delay will make that crystal clear. Again, a win for Nancy, and a black eye for McConnell and Senate republicans.

So who won? Nancy and the Democrats try to remove Trump from office by impeachment. Did they succeed?

Let's look at the results.

And the winner is:

Trump is still your President.

It was a given from the beginning that the Senate would not convict Trump. (shoot someone in Times Square and all)
The Dems had limited options. They seem to have played them as well a possible.
Trump deserved to be impeached - check.
Trump deserves to be removed from office by impeachment - no check.
The public should be made more aware of how despicably horrendous Trump is - check (for the ones capable of increasing their awareness)

And. . . . .

Trump is still your President.

What you consider a win for Nancy will more than likely be a Pyrrhic Victory at best.

It will be a victory in the long run even if there are short term consequences.
Sometimes doing the right thing comes with a short term price, but it's still the right thing.

Just like it was known from the beginning the house would vote for impeachment. What a f***ing hypocrite. You and the rest of the dims having been crying for over 3 years.

It was known from before day one that Trump would never be accepted, legitimately so.
That's why it was so insane to nominate and elect him.

You had your vote like everyone else. He was nominated and elected and thanks to people of your ilk it will likely happen again. YOUR FEELINGS DO NOT MATTER.

What you didn’t know from day one is , that the Dems could make Trump first President in history to be impeached then re-elected . That’s what will happen if it doesn’t play out like you hope it will .

That is a matter of dispute. John Bolton says that he resigned. Donald Trump says that he fired him. I guess it depends on who you want to believe, because one thing is for sure... Trump's track record of dishonesty means nothing to you.

Your right I actually prefer when he lies. When he lies about appointing conservative Judges. When he lies about cutting taxes. When he lies about building a wall. Can't stand it.

Accepted by whom? Was Trump supposed to get the “okay” from the political establishment before winning the election?

Ok Jeff let me splain so hopefully even you can understand. During impeachment the Senate decides with on the record votes how the trail will be ran. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presides as the judge over this trial and is guided by the before mentioned rules that were laid out. The Senate listens to whatever evidence there is and then votes to convict or acquit. The Senate is not responsible for gathering any evidence. They really aren't. So there will be a vote on witnesses before the trail starts. Mitch McConnell is on the record as saying he doesn't feel there should be additional witnesses. Let me lutherslate ( let me translate so Luther can understand) there will be no more witnesses. There will be a vote at some point to convict. It's very possible a couple Senators with D by their names vote to acquit. And you and the rest of the Democrats will like it! The end!

LOL...You contradicted yourself.
You say he was nominated and elected because of my ilk at the same time you say my feeling do not matter.
Pick one and stick with it.

True, and history will have a field day with that, but I still have confidence in America.
