How would the whistleblower know what was promised unless they were included in on the conversation? I’m not defending Trump, but we don’t know what the promise was or to whom, and we don’t if the whistleblower was spying on the President. Way too many unknowns.

2. He didn’t promise anything. He just stated something everyone knew. Now you can most definitely be concerned by the statement, but it isn’t the same as a promise being made in secrecy.

As much as you may believe that this isn’t a story or will turn out to be nothing, I don’t think anyone seriously believes it is outside the realm of possibility for Trump to do something like this.

He's asking Medvedev to deliver that message to Valdimir Putin who Obama addresses by name. It's as important as you want to make it.
It was made on a hot mike and not meant to be heard. He thought it was a private conversation, AKA, being made in secrecy. If it was so obvious, why did he have to say it and ask that it be delivered?
