Your point is valid. But I watched Manning lose to Fl 4 years in a row every which way possible and Bama was not very good during the Manning years so his wins weren’t that great.
They were bad his Senior year, but Alabama was averaging 9 or 10 wins from 94-96.

Manning and the offense scored 30 in the 1st half of the his sophomore year. Then the 1st series of the 2nd half a Fla DB put a monster hit on a Tn receiver that riled up the team and fans and it was a rout after that play. I believe UT was up about 30-21 and lost 62-37. You cannot blame Manning on that loss. He was killing it in the 1st half.
What about that 1st half of his Jr year vs the gators at Neyland

Not to mention that Casey didn’t have as good of a backfield, WR Corp, or defense as Peyton did during his time. If you’re talking Pro career, then yeah, Peyton developed into a really good QB. However, his pro career is overrated as well.
Either way, give me Shuler over both of them in college.

In a post full of dumbness, see the bolded for the dumbest of all

Who plays the other 20+ positions?

Doesn’t matter. On VN, it ALL comes down to QB play. Defense gives up a ton of points and yards? All on the QB. Bad special team play? All on the QB. Drops, fumbles, missed tackles, blown coverage assignments or bad coaching? All on the QB.

Opposing team being just better? All on the QB.

I would have liked to see how Dobbs would have done on either squads that Peyton and Clausen had.

Dobbs did a lot more with less, especially in terms of coaching.

And he should have been able to beat them single-handedly, right? 🤔

1. No you didn’t. Manning didn’t start and play vs Florida his freshman year other than the last mop-up possession or 2 after Florida was already up 4 touchdowns.

2. He played very well his second year, put up 30 offensive points with 300+ yards, 2 td passes and no turnovers. The rest of the team, primarily Jay Graham, special teams and defense, completely folded and gave the game away.

3. I’ll give you year 3, his junior year...he threw 4 first half interceptions, however the defense played like complete ish as well, it was 35-0 at home in favor of Florida. Manning finished with 4 tds and nearly 500 yards passing while posting 29 second half points, but his poor play in the first half put the team in a deep hole they couldn’t climb out of.

4. Again, 300+ yards and a couple tds his senior year. Didn’t have enough help to beat one of best Florida teams in modern history.

Also beat ND on the road. Beat Bama in a five period OT game on the road. Yes Peyton was a great QB for the Volunteers but so was Casey.

This is Peyton. All day. I think nostalgia makes people forget how up and down Casey was at times in his career.

This is nonsense. Casey threw one TD in the 03 win vs Florida. Fumbled how many snaps in 02? The 01 team was the only team he QBed that won and it was loaded. And in 01 it was Travis Stephens that carried us to victory.

Even non Vol fans (outside of Michigan) agree Peyton was robbed of the Heisman. No one has ever argued Casey deserved a Heisman.

This is insane.

I’m not sure who is trolling and who is just dumb
