In 2016, Hillary's scandal was potentially damaging to her, but it turns out Donald's crooked too. In 2020, Donald was tainted by scandal but Joe/Joe's son is crooked too, so it's a wash.

I think a good political rule to have is what each side says about the other is probably true, or at the very least along the right path.

If you read the emails, you see Jim sweet-talking Hunter, literally trying to get him to hold it together so these deals can go through. That family used him up like currency and still rode him after he was a shell of a functional human. I pity him. It has a despicable feel to it.

There was way too much smoke to totally write off Russiagate.

I'd be careful about embracing any kind of "the scandals of people I like politically are BS, but the scandals of people I don't like are totally true" thinking. All of those people live and work in a den of thieves.

I get why they wouldn't want to report it but given they all have DOJ/FBI contacts you'd think at least one would have a source denying it if it weren't true. When you don't want people to know something, or take a closer look at something, it's better at first to just not say anything. You don't want to attract attention to it. If you come out and strongly deny something that not many people are talking about, then you attract more eyes to it.

When the heat is on, when people do start to take closer looks and demand answers, that's when you go into the "deny til you die" phase.

You missed my point. The actual spying and coverup operation was much worse than anything they found on Trump.

That's not what you seemed to be indicating at first. In the initial post of mine that you quoted, I said "...but it turns out Donald's crooked too." You responded "but that was BS." You think that the notion that Trump is crooked is BS?

I acknowledge that they are all crooked, and the most of the stuff that the sides allege about each other is probably true, or at least on the right track. I never have bought "one side is clean and one side is crooked" or "one side is waaay more crooked than the other" sentiments.

I was referring to that specific “conspiracy theory/ hoax” that the media played up for nearly 3 years.

It was BS. They tried to use it as a basis for impeachment. They failed.

Trump is likely not 100% clean. That doesn’t mean I could ever look the other way or ignore what was done to Trump because “they’re all crooked”.

If that is accurate, this would lead me to believe there is no chance in hell Joe didn’t know exactly what Hunter did on every business venture / career change.
