The Hunter Biden Thread

So Huner, how is life down in Alabama? I plan on doing some camping and fishing that way in a month or so.
Come on in the water is fine. I don't feel like a resident though. Furniture and "stuff" has been on backorder forever. It took over two months just to get custom blinds. We haven't sold our home in Georgia yet. I still spend a lot of time here bc we're having some remodeling and landscaping done and seems I'm dealing with morons half the time. I haven't been able to kick off my shoes permanently in Alabama yet.

There's a mighty fine lake system in N Alabama and we really like the Huntsville/Athens area but give me the Smokeys any day.

I doubt that we refer to him as dad or pops, if we are trying to hide something that he is doing.
He thinks Trump recorded a call with the Ukrainian president that he broke the law on, and then released the recording to the world.

Surely Hunter would be using names and blood types in communications about selling the office of the VPOTUS--communications that his business partners later texted back and forth to remind Hunter not to torpedo his dad's presidential run.

Sure. Sure it is.

Your whataboutism is telling. Again... The fact that it depends on Trump being "corrupt" for wanting this investigated... And the fact that your defense depends on nothing less than the Democrat machine impeaching a duly elected President to hide this corruption?

It must be absolutely, mentally excruciating to be you.
Donald Trump was corrupt for making himself a part of the investigation. It's fine for Joe Biden to be investigated, and he was. However, it was not fine for the President of the United States to assert his presence into that investigation when it involved a potential opponent of his in the next election. Donald Trump had too much to gain professionally from the outcome of such an investigation into Joe Biden, and that constitutes a conflict of interest on Trump's part. Joe Biden may be a public figure, but he still has rights under the Constitution like the rest of us. As an American citizen, Biden is entitled to equal protection under the law. Donald Trump was attempting to infringe upon that Constitutional right. Trump should have stayed out of it, and let the U.S. Department of Justice handle any investigating into Joe Biden that was justified. Instead, Trump solicited the President of the Ukraine for an investigation into Joe Biden. It was highly improper. It was an abuse of power.

It took us some time to get furniture that we ordered after finishing our house build this Summer. Custom blinds turned out to be a disaster. Went through Lowe's, and they sent a guy from one contractor to measure, and 2 guys from another to install, after about a 2 month wait.

The measurer was planning on hanging the blinds on the wood around the windows, and the installers hung them above the wood into the sheetrock. Of course, they were too short. This was about $5,000 worth of blinds, and we only did about 12 of the windows, which is about half. We left the back of the house with no window treatments because of the views and nobody can see in from there.

After getting them rehung properly from the original measurer, we now have 52 holes in the sheetrock of a new house, and a $500 estimate to fill holes and spot paint. The estimate goes to $1200 if 7 walls have to be totally repainted to match. So far, Lowe's has not agreed. We have just finished spending many, many thousands of dollars with them on the house build, cabinets, tile, wood flooring, etc. We also spent many thousands with them on the mountain house, but a different Lowe's store.

Conflict of interest in Ukraine, huh? That really gets under your saddle?

A politician asking for an investigation of a political opponent infringes rights, huh? That really presses your buttons?

Pressing for an investigation into Ukrainian conflicts of interest against a political rival is improper, huh? That really grinds your gears?

Or does it?

Everything else just concerns whether or not the Bidens were selling political influence. It is not good if they were, but it's also not exactly anything earth shattering when talking about a career politician like Joe Biden.

You've accepted the idea of Biden Ukrainian conflicts as no big deal. You've applauded the Dems for three years of investigations against Trump. You applauded them for impeaching him for what you perceive to be a conflict--much less investigating him!

And you are happy as hades right now because you've been able to claim the Biden problem is no big deal while what-abouting Trump in the Biden corruption thread.

Just look at their level of proof for Trump. All they have is an opinion, Tweeted by a senator, who wasn't even involved in the call.

But Biden...? I don't even think they'd believe a personal confession. They'd cry "deep fake!" and cling to their mental gymnastics.
Principals over principles.

I had 3 blind companies come by my current house and only one was willing to measure close enough to mount the blinds inside the window opening. I recall him saying, "you paid a lot of money for the trim on your windows, why cover it up?"

Yes. Trump had a very clear conflict of interest in soliciting an investigation into Joe Biden, who was the most likely opponent of his in the next election. If any investigating into Joe Biden was justified, that determination should have been made by Trump's own appointed Attorney General, William Barr, and Trump's own appointed FBI Director, Christopher Wray. Trump should have allowed them to do their jobs, and to conduct any investigation which they felt was necessary. Trump didn't do this, however. Trump went outside the U.S. Department of Justice and sought a criminal investigation into an American citizen from a foreign government. And the subject of the investigation just happened to be a potential opponent of his in an upcoming election. That was an abuse of the power of his office, and it was also an infringement of Joe Biden's Constitutional right to equal protection under the law. Biden is still an American citizen, and he has Constitutional rights to equal justice. Trump was attempting to tip the scales against him.

But the Obama/Biden admin could spy on Trump during a campaign. Gotcha

A lot of "should have" here. Can you quote legal code?

And...

So, in your opinion that conflict of interest and corruption makes him unfit for office?

Oh... And...

You're claiming the request for an investigation was to the Ukrainian president. WTH are you getting DoJ? Please try to keep your argument straight.

Yeah... pointing to the Constitutional rights of an American citizen to equal protection under the law, and the obvious conflict of interest associated with a President soliciting an investigation into an opponent of his, is really going to the "ends of the earth", isn't it? LOL!

Constitutional right to not be investigated by the Ukrainians?

That's the argument you're trotting out?

Is that why you're OK with Daddy Biden's conflict of interest? You're claiming Hunter had a constitutional right not to be investigated by the Ukrainians?

The Department of Justice should have handled any investigation of an American citizen which needed to be conducted... and Trump should have steered clear of any such investigation into a potential opponent of his in the next election. But he didn't. It was a conflict of interest on Trump's part, and an infringement of Joe Biden's Constitutional right to equal protection under the law.

As an American citizen, Joe Biden has the Constitutional right to not have the scales of justice tipped against him by the President of the United States, who stood to gain professionally from the outcome of any such investigation into him. Trump had a very clear conflict of interest and he should not have made himself a part of any investigation into Joe Biden.
