OK. So I've been attending UT games for, errr. . . .almost 20 years now. It's been a tradition to partake of one of my favorite sins by eating a Smokey Dog for the majority of that time.

As some of you know, Sodexho (sp?) has taken over the concessions. I ordered 4 of the aforementioned "guilty pleasures" for General Jack and I, only to find that a) they are now just crappy hot dogs with cheese inside, and b) there are no longer any packets of Gulden's brown mustard, just mass-quantity yellow pumps of plain slop.

When I asked one of the workers in the kitchen, the answer I received was: "It's Sodexho now. They suck."

I agree.

:yikes: thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure not to order one when I come in.

I KNOW!!!

Pissed me off as well. I was looking forward to that little aluminum wrapped slice of stadium goodness. They were a staple of our Saturday diet in the Pride.

:finger3: to whoever decided to replace them.

That is almost worse than misspelling Doug Adkins name. VolInsider, talk to your connections and bring the smokey dog back.

There's no shortage of good hot dog vendors out there, no reason to pick a bad one. My personal favorite is Nathan's.

a) I thought the dogs we're alright, but not worth of "smokey dog," and the lack of gulden's was a major bummer

b) Why am I up posting this late when I have an early flight tomorrow....?

I was at the game, and there was a lot of complaining about the craptacularness of the concessions. Hopefully they will get this fixed by next season at the latest. It simply is not up to the standards we are used to in Neyland.

I didn't think the cheese hot dog things were too bad but I couldn't find any mustard at all.

I also bought a buffalo chicken sandwich and the bread was as hard as a rock.

I was afraid you'd be on hiatus battling depression, Freaky. Good to see you didn't let it get ya down!

This fat boy boy was extremly pissed about the hot dogs. I don't normaly get a smokey dog but, the lack of the nice warm Guldens mustard in side the foil pack really pissed me off!

Was it just my section or have the done away with hotdog vendors too?

SODEXHOrep:
'But this is Neyland Stadium...Best fans in the Country, they won't care about food quality because they are to into the game...just pick up the left over cafeteria dogs and chicken sandwiches and we can sell them to these guys at three times the cost..." "Goulden's Spicy Mustard, you know how expensive that stuff is and how long it takes to put a pack in each Hot dog packet...Just throw some French's Mustard out around the stadium man, I need a bigger bonus!"

They have the concessions at Vandy stadium this year too. But Vandy's had those condiment stands there for years and they do suck. After standing in line for the concessions, you have to stand in line for the lousy mustard because everyone has to take the hot dog out of the pack, pump the mustard, then put it back in.

I've got a grand idea: Give Sam and Andy's the concession.

Ok, i gotta chime in on this too, because I have long wondered why a University as big as UT, that brings together so many people into one place at the same time, cant offer decent concessions at a decent price. The Coliseum holds 25% less people and has great food, cheaper! The Ted holds much less and has great food. why is it that UT cannot find a way to offer better quality food? I dont mind paying $4 for a good hotdog, or even $3 for a nice cold coke, but I will not pay that for a cheap, lukewarm hotdog and a coke that is 40% melted ice. Why dont they just sell can cokes or the plastic bottles? I couldnt stomach the hotdog so went back and got a pretzel, it was like chewing a newspaper in half. I know, like we have nothing better to complain about, but it was already bad, now it is even worse. Take my advice, grab one from a corner vendor before entering the stadium, much better, fresher and just as cheap. On a positive note, the concourse looked so much better since the "upgrade", and I liked the new led scoreboards.

That's hitting the nail on the head.
Couldn't have said it better.
