I think he is a great coach considering what he has done at S.Miss over the years., basically a third-wheel school in a state that could barely keep a slick unicycle on the road.

This really is a huge surprise to me. What other team in C-USA has had anywhere near the consistent success of Southern Miss. He'll get picked up by somebody.

At 54 years of age he probably has another good run left in him. I read a rumor that the proverbial straw in his case is that he wanted to talk to Ole Miss about thier opening.

Guess they're ready to move on. Its one of the better jobs in C-USA, so I don't think it will be hard to find a adequate replacement.
