The hard truth

Not being able to stop 4th and forever lost us the UGA game. Our players had like a dozen chances to close that out and didn't. I agree that wanting to get rid of Heupel is insanity, but 10-2 ain't the new 12-0. You still got multiple teams winning 11, 12 games. 3 in the SEC this year.
Yes the d lost that game, kid should never have been in the position of hitting the field goal. I think next year changes the 12-0 but I believe 11-1 will be the 12-0.
The portal has changed college football forever, any team put together by a good coaching staff COULD win it all.

Defense definitely bears alot more blame to me than Max.

Do people actually believe that anyone is going to read a post that long?

Dang dude, that is cruel as sh*t to say about one of our own brethren but, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT and read my mind.

* Use more bullets people
* Know your audience (UT grads and fans...)
* Think sentences, not paragraphs
* Pay these prices and don't pay more!!

Well, saying 10-2 is the new 12-0 is a farce though when right now, at this very moment we have a 12-1 team and two 11-1 teams. The longer time passes, I realize more and more readily that I am neither a pumper nor a nega. I wish both sides would cut the hyperbole and keep their feet on planet earth.
Saying 10-2 is the new 12-0 is basically saying Vandy is part with those undefeated bama and Georgia teams. I'd say in many cases you get 1 game, not 2, and that still depends.

I have never thought Heupel was on the hot seat. Most of that flack is coming from trolls or people who, obviously, know less about football than you ham they think.
Some ppl live to just put coaches on the hot seat. Alabama had a group that was saying Saban was washed up and game was passing him by after Tennessee beat them in 2022. This year they were ready to ride DeBoer out on a rail after the FSU loss, then same ppl were saying after they beat UGA in Athens we need to give him a bump and extension. Now after SEC blowout loss he's prompted to be ran out on a rail again. Now that they eked in the playoffs its DeBoer has to win it all or you're gone. Its what fanatics do.

In the new age of the portal you want your head coach to be a former QB. This is going to work to our advantage over cumulative years. Great example is this past season. With no guarantees to how long a player can stay at a school now, having a Coach that can identify, develop and recruit the single most important position on the field is critical. Heupel has something on his resume that 99% of the other head coaches don’t have being the starting QB of a team that won the National Championship.

It's not that difficult. There are questions around this program's performance and the direction they are headed. There were enough poor or diminishing areas that it had to raise concerns. With the schedule next year and a QB question mark, they very well could have a poor season. If that happens in Year 6, welcome to the hot seat. I don't see it as unfair.

Heupel = Ritch

We are where Georgia was 5-7 years ago as far as 9 or 10 win seasons being accepted as "good enough because it's better than we've been in years" mentality.

Personally I like CJH, a lot really. I'm just not sure he's the one that will carry us into the promise land.

Anyway, I see UT being in the same slot Georgia was with Ritch as far as plateaus go.

We'll see, let's listen in.....

What I see is, the players are getting what they want, the coaching staff is getting what they want, the administration is getting what they want 100% win or lose, while the fans who foot the bill get the finger. Unsustainable.

I don't usually read long posts but this one was spot on.

Heupel is desperately trying to improve. The offense was explosive for the 1st time without a true DT QB. He put a lot of work into the offense last off season.

If Banks had of done the same he would still be DC.

Attack the Transfer Portal. get close to what you think you need, and the strength and conditioning with a purpose.

Study up if you're a defender and play scenarios out in your mind
Vandy game looked like the team didn’t give a damn. Rest of the games we were close imo in terms of talent. We’re really not that far away depending on what we get from QB position and what defense looks like. People are panicking but I think we could be a playoff team
