the halfcourt trap

I was a bit surprised to see no mention of Darius Miller's verbal to Billy Clyde. Luckily he can't sign until February, and the good people of Mason County will all be wearing the orange that time of year.

After viewing Playboys girls of Conference USA.....Larry has his hands full. SEC girls are in this month and after a brief look.... Auburn may be in the lead. I will report back after a better look! However the centerfold hails from Dallas Ga!

Well done:

No wonder Stoops laughed when enticed by Alabama's coaching position: "Look at 'em now"
Oklahoma has quietly been building an empire in Norman.
Great years to come!

I think UGA will finish ahead of Vanderbilt and Florida. In fact, I will probably pick the Commodores to finish last in the East.

Devan Downey will make South Carolina much better. The law of averages will catch up with the 'Dores. A good number of last year's close wins will turn into this season's close losses.

Odom is a solid coach, and I think losing Kelly for Downey will help them (Kelly was supposedly an egomaniac and disruption, despite his abilities). I just look at the roster and see a lot of newcomers. Maybe they'll bounce back.

I don't like Vandy (Stallings is a weenie), but I think they proved you wrong last year. I still enjoy when you diss them.

I'll be the first one to admit Vanderbilt had a better season than I expected. That said, there are a whole bunch of teams that could have ridden the draw the 'Dores received to the Sweet 16.

Texas Tech, followed closely by West Virginia, USC, and Memphis.

Interesting, you think Huggins will do good there for the next couple of years? I would have to agree with TT. Knight's one of my favorite coaches. Floyd has been very successful since joining the college ranks. Although I don't agree with him bringing in OJ Mayo. Mayo's the type of guy that can destroy the program. It seems like he's went from being a quite contender to running a circus out there in the west coast. I think eventually it'll catch up to him when Mayo and Jefferson bolt to the NBA draft.

Huggs will do fine at West Virginia, even though I'm not sure he'll be able to assemble as much talent as he left behind at K-State. Tim will simply replace OJ with Demar Derozan and keep right on rolling.

I think him leaving K-State was crazy. He had some great things coming there and was going to succeed. But I guess he did what he felt was right. Still, I'm worried about Mayo's character issues. It would surprise me to see him blow up the whole team at least for next season.

I'm open to changing my mind about those guys, all of whom know how to win and have done it a lot. I've grown to appreciate Knight, but the other guys have just given me more fuel to dislike them. To me,

Huggins = players who commit crimes, get poor grades, play dirty
Floyd = a clown who went berserk last year at end of Indiana game in NCAAs (or maybe your USC was So. Carolina?)
Calipari = I don't know what it is, but he seems like a dirty recruiter and kind of a jerk (maybe his budding rivalry with Pearl gives me that impression)

Why should I think different?
