The Great 2022 and Beyond Recession Thread

A simpleton who can call the program what it is
I agree too you are a simpleton on this. Your stupid ass word gotcha doesn’t line up with even annuities. We’re I to take my pension in the form of an annuity then I could get more out of it than I paid in too. Or I could die tomorrow and not see a cent. But I guess that’s no where near as cool a sound bite huh?

SS is not an annuity. It's money for old people paid by young people. It's a govt slush fund. See above gif

SS is more than a retirement fund, it also pays your wife and kids if you die young. It pays you if you become disabled. What does your private health insurance do in those situations?
So PJ is actually right on his label for the crazy program add ons. I’m gonna side with him on the lucrative nature of dependents benefits. But the straight up individual benefit is just a straight forward annuity.

I'm a fan of getting the benefits I was promised when I started working 50 years ago. I personally hope you never see an f'ing dime from SS.
You were promised money paid by younger workers. Maybe you should have asked questions then. I won't need SS but maybe I'll whine about it once I get to your age. What else is there is so when you're getting robbed?

LMAO I’d guess Volstrom and I don’t need it either. So now needs tests are good for you to justify federal theft? Good to know.

It's forced govt theft for a shush fund. If this was a simple, straight forward program then there would be no threat of insolvency
I’m glad we agree. So when I reach the age shut up and pay me or get it changed before then. I see a need to change it I’m on board. But I’m not gonna rail on a citizen for taking their check they didn’t have a choice so pay them

No. Stop taking from me and other workers then pay out until all the money is gone. Then we can start keeping and increasing our own money

It will never change for the same reason all entitlements never disappear

I'm amazed we've now gotten to a point where free money from the govt is not an entitlement and actually a right. And we wonder why nothing can get changed
It is by design. We grew up with this concept. People "pay" in and have been told for decades it is theirs for retirement. They get no interest. So "over disbursements" are fair.

Its design is to create govt dependence. Sounds like it works

But his spending was cool?
Spending on polices which harm the American people are not good...both spent poorly..Trump seemed to be more America before International. Accountability for other countries as opposed to Continuing to shell out money to protect the world

I’ve got no problem with attacking the program defined payment methods. But leave the people whom reached retirement age alone it’s misdirected dumbassery to screech at them.

Did you ever think that in the 1930's they didn't consider that the population growth was going to slow and the life span of people was going to increase? That's the problem with politicians, they don't think past their terms.
