Been awhile, Ron, been awhile. I remember rolling one out of the paper that came with the Cheech and Chong album.

I seem to remember the coke bottles in holes inside the door. You had to grab the bottle, which was laying down, by the top and pull like hell to get it out.

I remember going to the auto mechanics with my Dad and they had a machine like this. It always intrigued me and was a big treat.

Don't know your age, but were they plastic or real wood. Those things were invented in the early 1900's. I loved them.

Mine were like this...

Real wood, with only the roof joists, green slats and yellow chimneys. None of that fancy stuff they would add later. I LOVED my Lincoln Logs.

I've been trying to remember what the container of mine looked like. Can't get it to come in clear. I remember it being round, though. With all the parts being wood. No plastic, I do remember that. And, just now remembered that I haven't pulled my old train out for Christmas yet. Dad and Mom bought if for me a few months before I was born and it was my very first, and only, Christmas present. Nice to just hold and look at through the holidays.

That's a sad story, Sly. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to your parents?

I just reread my post and should have added first and only Christmas present that year. Their bodies gave out to old age, Thrasher. I'm an old guy, so, it happens. That train just means more and more to me as I get older. Connection to the past, I guess.

That's something like I keep thinking about. Seems like boy in foreground w/ Lincoln cabin or something a few feet behind in background. Also, seems like it may have been black and white. Mine would have been sold in the late '40's.

That's great that you have the train to enjoy and remind you of your parents. Things with those kinds of memories are priceless.

Toy cars? If that's what you're talking about, me, too. Here's how old I am, out toy cars were made of hard rubber. No plastic cars at that time. But, they still exploded and burned.

Thanks. I'm sure we could negotiate a price. Not really, I wouldn't sell it for anything. It will be given away at some point.
