Why the heck did Tiger ever stop hitting the "stinger"? Watching the replay of today, I've never seen anybody that would attempt, much less, pull off the knockdown 3 wood off the tee the way Tiger can.

"Chicks love the long ball"

He tries to force a cut all the time even when it's not needed & his natural shot is a draw.

what kind of rules do ya'll play when y'all play around with buddies for like a buck a whole?

we always say...

-2 off the first tee.
-you can move it a club length
-if it's touching metal on your putter it's a gimmie
-if it goes our of bounds or in the water, take a stroke and drop where it went in

First rule only if you don't get to hit a few on the range before hand. Hate inside the leather gimmees. No club length. Last rule only if you're not sure it was OB initially.

-No mulligans, no exceptions
-Up in the fairway, down in the rough
-Gimmies
-OB, hit #3 from tee box, water, lateral hazard
-Use golf etiquette, be quiet while I'm trying to hit dammit!

Do you take your sticks with you?

Yes
I usually play 4-5 times, but a couple of those will be late afternoon 9 holes after going to the beach with the kids

My father in law doesn't play but will ride along with me and drink beer

Then I usually take my kids 5 and 7 to the par 3 course and let them knock it around

When I put their clubs in the car Friday morning, my daughter (5), looked at my wife and asked her to take her shopping for a new golf outfit when we get to grandma and grandpas before I take her golfing

she's going to be a handful in a few years,

Well maybe she will show more interest as she gets older & get a scholly

can y'all tell me the best way to get rid of inconsistency? I mean, some days I'll shoot an 88, and then 3 days later I'll shoot 103. On the same course. And I usually either hit a great shot or a horrible shot.

"Same course" - 3 days later are you thinking about the great shot you hit 3 days ago, or are you focusing on the shot at hand?

This poses a problem for me, playing the same course back to back. But it all boils down to that 5 1/2" course between your ears

Yeah. So just take a deep breath, relax, and concentrate more? I'll try that, but for some reason it seems like I hit the ball better when I just walk up to it with no practice swings and hit it without thinking much. I just need to get some lessons from a golf pro I guess.
