A near perfect hit just doesn't fly as far. A shank is more than 2 inches from the sweet spot.

Something up with my shoulder setup really messed with my grip feel. Shanked one from 112 on a 450 yd par 4. Another from 195 on a 530 par five. Highly uncomfortable over it and now just pissed.

Hit about 100 balls when done and ironed some of it out, but actually sweat through my shoes.

I feel your pain man. I've been struggling for a month now. Hit it like junk the hole front 9 yesterday and had absolutely zero confidence in what I was doing. Then I made one good swing on 13 and birdied 4 of the last 6. 67 on my course isn't all that impressive but I at least got some confidence back.

Its a funny game, you just got to play through it. Just know that you can't be that far off if you have been playing so well

If that was true then your irons are about 1.5 inches wide. And pelz is out to make money off of duffers by convincing them he can fix their shank easily.

Lambert tomorrow morning at 6am...fun stuff...cannot wait. Got my driver going last round I played, hopefully it will continue and I can put it in the low 80s.

Fixed it today. Shoulders had gotten pretty closed so my right hand just couldn't get there and I couldn't clear my hips enough to leave room for arm swing. I threw up a good score and some really solid shots.

I wasn't really that far away. Only a couple crept in and it's basically from laziness. Went out today with a buddy who very quickly told me it was the first time he had ever seen me set up with my shoulders closed. That was it. Opened 'em up and felt wide open, bit my grip fell right back into place, so I knew it was right. Halfway through the round I was rolling. Birdied 3 in a row on him and he was pissed for having given the advice.

Mine aren't very wide, but my shanks weren't full blown hosel laterals either. They were well right, but not what we're thinking here.

Got par on 17 at Sawgrass. Made my day. Loved the course. Tough playing 27 holes when the heat index it right at 100 and you take as many cuts as I do though.

Price is steep but it is worth it IMO.

I've hit the same shot, albiet with a sand wedge. Very damaging to the confidence.

Played 27 at Lambert Acres yesterday. Shot 44, 46, 44.

I will take it considering I hit my driver like arse....really!

Played Southern Hills yesterday. Hot as balls. Hit it well, but putted everything low. Reprise today. I'm excited.

so while not stellar, I'll take it..I was definetly hitting the driver better after swapping shafts...
There was about a 20-30 mile an hour wind, so that pushed alot of my shots around, but I still felt good about the contact I was making...

BPV couldn't imagine playing Southern Hills in the heat, just walking it a couple of years ago during the PGA was brutal

I played Gaylord Springs and Fairvue in Nashville this weekend...

The Gaylord course was pretty nice -- lots of moguls, not a lot of level lies, and pretty tight. The greens were less than impressive. That course is steamy in the heat -- right in the riverbed. The staff was fantastic and the clubhouse is a good setup for meetings.

Fairvue is a private course in Hendersonville. I really enjoyed it -- greens were great, fairly open, nice-lie Zoysia (sp?) fairways. It's in a struggling, newer, high-end neighborhood, but if you can get on, it's a great play.
