i enjoyed the press conference she gave yesterday, or at least the snippets i saw of it. basically she told all her detractors to go get bent.

Most of the stupid things she has done are the result of her idiot father's "handling" of her. She never had any business playing in men's events and I think she knows that now. BJ Wie will do his daughter well to back completely off of her and let her manage her own golf career. If she gets/keeps her head on straight, she will be looking back at the other great American players. If she tries to do too much and spreads herself too thin, she will be the butt of many jokes

What are yalls thoughts on dual hinged swing trainers? I think it's like a five iron or something. I was thinking of picking one up, have yall used one? Did it help, or is it just good to warm up with before a round?

I used one of those things one time. Apparently I reroute the club somewhere because it kept breaking down in my backswing, but would slam back into place in time for me to still hit the ball.

This might be a stupid question, but do you hit balls with one of these, or just practice swinging with no ball, or use a plastic practice ball or something?

If you're talking about one of those Medicus type things, you can swing it just for feel or you can actually hit balls with it. The selling point it that it keeps you swinging "on plane" and at the right tempo because if you loop the club or get quick, the shaft gives you instant feedback and breaks down.

It probably couldn't hurt to practice with one of those things, but honestly if it were me, I'd treat like I do most other training aids and take the money and invest it in some lessons instead.

Yeah I hear ya on that. Just figured it would give me something to do during the winter. Maybe there is an indoor play around these parts that have lessons inside. Ill just have to rob a bank first to play for them. no biggie :)

This thread is depressing since got some new-to-me Ping G2's for my wedding and have only played with them twice. Dad only had them for a few months before he had to quit playing because of his back. Hate it for him but won't turn them down. :) Also got his King Cobra woods which are very nice too

I am heading down to Florida tomorrow for a little R&R, taking my clubs with me. It will be nice to play when it's not 40 degrees outside. Maybe that will help the suck factor. Who knows.

yeah, i could think of worse guys.

personally, i'd like to see Zinger get the nod again but i understand it doesn't work that way. also, he's going to be writing about about this year's Ryder Cup and i hear there's going to be some good stories in it.

I hear the book is interesting. Hope he blisters Phil as a fraud.

not like it's some kind of tradition seeing as Hagen, Hogan, Sneed, and Nicklaus have all taken multiple turns at it.

add the changes in scoring to make the team (what seems like every year) and the fact it became all Euros and you have the makings of an event that doesn't follow the original bill.

about the only thing that's stayed the same is the fact it's every two years and the trophy. and my hatred for all things Europe that week.

These are nice to keep your hands warm, but you still lose some feel in the club. I've used them several times this year because I've played several rounds now in below 40 temperatures, but I can definitely tell a difference and I play much better when I'm not using them. I have a pair of mizuno winter gloves, and the grip on them isn't as good as a regular glove. The club tends to slip a little in your hand during your swing.

Just in my experience, I prefer using rain grips during the winter. Winter gloves aren't very thick but they were just thick enough to me that I lost a lot of the feel of the club. The rain grips keep me warm enough, although I'd need a new pair if I went back out because my old ones are evidently in Va Beach somewhere.

On a side note, I spoke with a FootJoy rep before I left for Vegas that can get me a DryJoys rainsuit for super cheap. Thinking I might have to go after that.
