The Golf Thread

i become invested (or re-invested) when i start getting up and down with 30 footers or chipping in from the fringe. much more gratifying than bombing one 250 or 300 right down the middle.

i have to admit though, it is pretty nice being able to go driver > 9, PW, or, SW instead of driver > 3, 4, or 5 because i'm only 150 yards and way right from the tee box.
a few days of some straight driving will send the confidence soaring and make it a helluva lot of fun.

the november/december/january/february dilemma. I can't stand cold weather golf. But like Mr Limbaugh and Oxycontin, I'm addicted. And too poor to make a trip to Florida or somewhere else warm. What's even worse is leaf golf. It's a legit USGA/Royal rule, but I always feel bad taking free drops because I can't find my ball under leaves. Flying to Vegas in a few weeks for a career fair. Anyone want to donate to help get my clubs aboard the plane?

Did it once a few weeks ago... not exactly dying to do it again... for awhile.

There is nothing quite as satisfying as blowing it by your playing partners.
there are a couple things, but they aren't golf course related (normally), the satisfaction doesn't last as long and you have to put up with much more in the interim.

there wasnt anyone out there with us. so we were pretty much using the course as a driving range. the wind wasnt blowing hard, but once the ball got into the air you could definitely tell a difference.

Well since we stayed in Arkansas for Thanksgiving and didn't make the trek to Tennessee or Destin
Had a little golf this morning, with the wife and kids
We just played the back, it's about 60 degrees and sunny and the kids had a blast

Wish I would've went out either today or yesterday. Probably won't get many more days as nice as these past two.

This could possibly draw the ire of some posters, but here is my official I'm cheering for Michelle Wie to get through Q school post.

Through the first 3 days, she sits two strokes off the lead and in really good shape with 36 holes to go. She's had a lot of ups and downs in her young life, especially her golf life, but I hope she can rebound and prove everyone wrong.

i've been keeping up too.

if she makes it through Q School, there's not really much anybody can say about her. and it looks like she's in pretty good shape.

Also pulling for Stacy Lewis

there both tied for 3rd at -10, so it's looking good
