Are you implying the Titleist Players glove is slightly thicker than the PermaSoft? If that's the case, I would consider that a big difference. In the summer I have a problem of sweat just drying them out until they are too difficult to use, but between September and May my glove tends to stretch and rip along the pinkie side of my bottom palm. Titleist gloves seem to last twice as long as Footjoy.

you're probably playing the thicker Titleist. Not many places carry the Titleist Players, which is essentially the Perma Soft.

Well, that's a wrap for the First Annual Central Florida Vols/Gators golf challenge. The results:

Finevol ... Didn't show up
Hohensvol ... 107
LG1 ... 95

A good time was had by all. Thanks to Hohen for picking the course and getting us all set up.

girlfriend went and picked up the clubs for me, sent me a picture and they look amazing. now all i gotta do is find someone that can take a few hours off to play in the morning. as for now, it looks like i'll be playing pine lakes in the morning.

I sprayed it around pretty good today. Is it too much to ask to have two good rounds in a row?

Anyway, the weather was nice, so that was something.

none of them are worth keeping after a tough summer round, IMO.

I don't really know much about how long they last, so I'm completely speaking out of school. I know the best ones are cabretta and very thin, meaning they won't last very long.

One round with a glove? One year with a grip? BPV, my hands must be much more soft and supple than yours.

one round with a glove would get pretty expensive, unless you can get them for cheap (i.e. a sponsor).

i can go 3-4 months.

I truly sucked. I've had better days. It was fun getting out with Lawgator but wish my swing worked better. Next time will be different. I will be drinking beer rather then hungover.

Thanks for coming out Law. I did have a good time.

Also had the ground move around on me on some mornings. This one was one of the better ones. Had multiple drinks at my neighbors house until about 2am.

I didn't mean to come off as a pretentious prick like that. I play more than one round with a glove, but once it has been through a few salt soakings, a glove goes into the practice pocket for me.

I do buy my gloves by the dozen at the beginning of the year so I get a little better deal from our shop and I don't have to putz with not having one. I probably pay about $12 each for the perma sof. As to the grips, I just have the changed at the same time every year. Don't really think about it that much. Probably could do it less.

I'd say that most of mine last about 5-10 rounds, but they don't see the practice range. All the old ones do that.

Crazy laid out course, but what do you expect being on a mountain i guess. Lots of tough shots off the tee that force you to keep the driver in the bag, so I brought my Callaway Steelhead Plus 15 Degree 3 wood out of retirement. I was crushing that baby. No problem hitting it straight, hitting it high to land softly and even working a little fade on it. Tomorrow it goes to the pro shop for a new grip and I have to find a club to take out of my bag. I don't really want to take out the 17 degree Adams (there is about a 15 yard difference in the two clubs for me), so I'm guessing an iron somewhere. Most likely the six iron.

Clear Creek is garbage, especially if you like to walk. Walking the back 9 is the biggest pain in the ass I have ever had to do. Not a fan.

If you want to see a crazily laid out course you need to check out the back 9 to Greenway Creek in Glade Springs. Not the best course either but it is crazy how the fit the back 9 in.

Where did you play? My ranch is in central FL and i have played most courses around there.

having a friend that knows the pro and playing for 10 bucks with cart makes it one heck of a fun course for me

Having a friend that works at Bristol Country Club that will let me walk for free is probably a similar feeling.

Around this time of the year Clear Creek isn't that bad but in Spring and Early summer it is terrible. Hot, humid and the course is usually in terrible condition then.

it was in really good shape, there were just some poorly laid out holes, but I'm not sure what else could have been done given the terrain. I just like to mix it up a little and it never hurts having people that know people. I'd play it again, but I wouldn't make it a regular course.

I didn't take it that way, and didn't intend my reply as a rebuke. Tone of voice is hard to convey over the intarweb. I guess that's why we have smilies:dance2::rock::crazy::cool2:
