Lets give the turkeys guns nad see how fun it is:)

I am not a hunter myself but if you know anything about hunting turkey are perhaps the most elusive prey to kill. They have eyesight like you cannot imagine. You make one move within a couple hundred yards and they will spot you 8 times out of 10. Turkey hunting is something I would not mind doing once.

I'm going to try and hit the woods before the O&W game. I hope to get one at daybreak and be home before she even knows I was gone. :)

(that's the plan anyway)

Good luck.

I'm going to try to go the next two weekends with a crappie fishing trip sandwiched in there.

Might just take my gun on the boat with me :p

1 hour south of Nashville in Bedford County. Very rural. I see them out in the cow pastures frequently.

i could've used y'all this summer in Wisconsin. Turkeys were regularly prancing around the 18th fairway during a golf tourney I was working. Didn't really care about the people either. They just did their thing and ultimately the players had to shut out the oddity/annoyance of it all.

One big tom and 3 hens wandered onto to Tennessee's campus a couple of springs ago.

The tom gobbled at anything that made a noise. Funny stuff.

There was a girl that was scared of them.

Season here doesn't start til the 1st of May, i usually make it out a few times, depending on the work schedule. With Sunday hunting outlawed here, it's tough to get out dark and ugly in the morning if work is busy and i'm committed for Saturday jobs.

I get 2 free tags as a landowner, so i just listen for gobbles at dawn before the season so i have a general direction to head before showtime, if i make it out.

I was went bluefishing with a guy from work, who we will say, is an "urban" type. Afterwords we went to my buddies dairy farm where my meat freezer is, and he wouldn't go through the barn to get to the bull(crap)ing room...reasoning? "I ain't gonna get bit by no cow!"

Got the trip all planned to get into the woods Saturday morning before the O&W game. Steep price for an out of state tag so I hope it's worth it.

Turkey hunting & UT football game= great double header!
