Not trying to be negative, but this is a horrible spot for our team. We are comming off a huge emotional win and have to travel to athens where uga is comming off of an embarassing loss. Very tough spot for our vols, i hope the celebrating is over and they are not to relaxed like the season goal was to beat florida

Definitely potential for let down. But John Brice made a good point. A team that is mature enough to stay focused and come back from 21-0 deficit is mature enough not to let themselves down for Georgia.

Or it could be a good spot. Our team finally got over a mental hump that's held them for 11 years, and now they feel like they can play with anybody. Plus, the Georgia team is realizing how overrated they were by finally play a halfway decent team. Chubb isn't the same, their Oline isn't the same, and their defense isn't great. We'll find out Saturday!

Poor job and not trying to be negative. Just relax man. You can't do anything about it and the team is well aware they play UGA this weekend.

They have gone through the doldrums and have now been turned loose by the staff. I think they are now down to business and from here on, win or lose, they will play like it.

A let down could happen but I don't expect it to. The biggest hurdle has been cleared and the team knows they can play ball. I really think a lot of people are not realizing just how bad Georgia is.

If this team has taught us anything this season - it's they are seemingly immune to outside influence. These guys will march into Athens with confidence not seen in more than a decade. Every season goal is still within reach. And our star d-end just got his first taste of blood this year. He's gonna eat Saturday.

The three guys I would not want to be for Georgia this week are the LT, the D-coordinator, and Kublanow.

I agree, there could be potential for a let down, but I think there's more potential we finally play a full game. UF's defense was pretty good, probably the 3rd best we'll play all year behind Bama and TAM, but UF's corners may be the best. I think this team we'll have loads of confidence after dominating them in the 2nd half. Also, I think Dobbs, Malone, and Jennings are riding super high right now knowing they can beat anyone who matches up against them. On defense, I think they got confidence knowing they can stop anyone without Sutton, JRM, and DKjr. More importantly, I think they'll play a lot looser than they have this year and won't come out tight or have any mental hurdles to jump over. This win was huge for every part of this team.

this had been talked about a lot during the off season.

i'm gonna stick with the notion that winning the FL game is the momentum power boost that will help make our season take off.

is there a chance for a let down, and conversely GA to come out swinging with something to prove?

yes. but if winning the FL game was the confidence boost this program needed, then i expect TN to go out and play like a team vying for a championship.

we can definitley win this game.

If by worst, you mean next, then I agree. That Florida win will relieve the pressure this team has been under. I expect us to play our best ball (whatever that is) going forward. Nobody is tight or nervous anymore. We've vanquished our demon and now were coming for everybody else's head. Look out SEC. A Big Orange Train is coming down the track. And it ain't no turnin' back.

I know that a lot of people would like to see Shy get his shot but this team is bigger than that. I fully expect Tennessee to roll Georgia. No reason for me to think otherwise they are just to inconsistent at every position.

I agree. This team is capable of winning at any time regardless of the emotions. The players and coaches have shown that they can come back from injuries, deficits, dropped passes, busted plays, and questionable decisions and hold it together. They have the "want to" for winning this year. Why should it matter which team is up or down. Let's quit booing our own Vols at Neyland and get behind them regardless. Go Big Orange, one game at a time! :clapping:

again not being negative. Im pumped about where we are right now. Georgia is actually the biggest game of the rest of this regular season imo, and i just dont want this one to slip away. We beat uga, and we can still drop bama and tx am game and be in drivers seat to sec championship.

It can go either way. Hopefully, the Vols remember than Georgia went ahead of us last year in Neyland 24-3 with their best player (Chubb) on the bench.

1) This year, they have a far better quarterback in Eason. He is a definite NFL starter some day.
2) They have home field advantage with a p/o'ed home crowd.
3) Huge new interest in the program with Richt gone after 15+ years.
4) Per VN, they have the best OL Coach in the country in Sam Pittman.
5) Jim Chaney scores a ton of points everywhere he goes.
6) The Georgia high school system is rich in talent and they have recruited well.
7) Kirby Smartt is the defensive brains who made Saban look good for years.
8) # 16 is 'The Human Joystick' and Verne loves him. As does Chaney.
9) They went on the road with a true freshman quarterback and won against a tough Missouri squad.

I just hope we can stay close enough to squeeze out a victory at the end on an Aaron Medley field goal.

Georgia game was made 'bigger' by beating Florida. The A & M game will still have national implications if we could pull it off. Then there is the elephant in the room. After the Tide, we get a much needed break. Then a stretch run to the ATL hopefully. From there, it's on to Tampa.

Byah!!!!!!!!!

It's the SEC man. There's no way to shuffle the schedule, even if you got to hand pick it, that doesn't create a tough stretch for just about any team.

The good thing about having this gauntlet is that they probably won't be looking past anyone. I think they'll be ready to play. Being on the road might actually help them. It gives CBJ a different card to play in his psych up game.

I think its this! I think we all witnessed that mental hump snap in the 3rd Qtr. I hope we keep the gas down for the rest of the season and enjoy watching that Defense gel. That was super exciting to see during the Fla. game.

I don't know , this Georgia team seems pretty soft. They lost as bad/worse to ole miss than we did a few years ago and they probably are very similar talent wise. Barely beat a pretty bad Missouri. From what I've seen from our team, even if we do let them take a lead we're pretty likely to throw on the gloves and start slugging. It might end up being close, but I have confidence we will win.

This team are fighters. First half may yet again be sloppy. But they will wake up and impose their will.

I also don't think emotions will be a big factor for us. We've had the 'new season every week' mentality all year, so if anything I think our confidence is boosted more than it already was.
