The Future Is Bright

Hey guys, my first time posting here. I am a Georgia Bulldog fan through and through, and even though I now live back in south Ga where I grew up, I was very fortunate to live in Knoxville during the 90's, and absolutely love east Tennessee. When I was living in Kville, I developed a hatred for the Vols, primarily because UGA couldn't beat UT and the Tennessee fans at the time were some of the most obnoxious fans I'd ever seen, hated Fulmer too, always thought he did Johnny Majors wrong. But anyway, years later, and now with D Dooley at the helm, I sincerely believe that UT is on the path back to prominence in the right way. Dooley is a class act, and let's be honest, Kiffen screwed you all totally, and only hurt your program and set you back a couple of years. I think that now, you all are on the way back in a big way. Dooley will do things right, you just have to give him time to change the attitudes and get the right players in the system. I find myself all these years later, not hating the big orange so bad anymore, and wished that you all could have whipped the tide tonight, but even in defeat, you all played hard and had a good first half, and have some positives to build on. I hope you all beat the snot out of S Carolina next week, and hope you all continue to find the positives to improve on. Playing LSU and Bama in back to back weeks is never the preference, but that's the SEC for ya. I am curious about one thing tho, having played UGA, LSU, and Bama, how do you guys feel that UGA's defense stacks up against those guys?I'm just curious to get you Vols fans take on that. I hope you guys finish strong, and never thought is say this, but from here on out, Go Big Orange!

Been burned by "next year" story too many times most likely.

Well those were silly. You can't deny that our whole team is coming back and will only improve. THE D will be better. Bray will have Hunters/Rogers/Arnet/Rivera/Dallas/ to throw to. Young as a special team threat and big play threat. Lane will be solid. Neal will possibly step up to. :loco:

This is getting awful. Just awful. I never thought I would see a day where I honestly don't think we can beat anyone in the SEC that includes Vandy and KY. If Simms plays hell I don't know if we beat MTSU. I don't know how Worley is going to do. But Simms has to be the worst QB in the history of UT football. Hell he may be the worst I have ever seen period....

I just can't sit through this stuff much longer. It actually physically makes me sick. I would like to get Kiffin, Flumer, Hamilton all in a room and just beat the **** out of everyone of them. How this program could fall so far is beyond me. As far as Dooley goes, I don't know, he is hard to judge off the scraps he got left with. But nothing really points to this guy being able to get the job done. It feels like he just has bad luck. We just have bad luck. But either way he better have this team making some big improvments next year or his time is going to be short. This can't continue. Just can't.... If so I am gonna lose my freaking mind.....

I fail to understand how vol fans don't see the promising season ahead next year.

Because its gonna be pretty much the same offense, the same coaches, and were not gonna have mailk jackson, ben martin, or austin johnson on defense.
Honestly unless we get an absolute beast of a RB that is both strong and extremely fast we won't do any better in the SEC. We would also need a complete overhaul of both lines and a new secondaries coach and none of those things are gonna happen.
But like every year I will watch every game, will cheer on our players and hope for the best. Unfortunately I see this current trend continuing for at least a few more years, until either Dooley gets the RB and Oline he wants, and we don't currently have, that he's basing our current SEC game plans off of, or he gets canned and we get a coach that will use our strengths instead of forcing our weaknesses. Because even when Bray was healthy he was more worried about running the ball than letting our passing threat do its thing.

I think the main reason why Tennessee fans are skeptical about Dooley is because we're 0-11 while trailing at halftime with Dooley as head coach. I, however, am gonna stick by Dooley cause he did make some smart calls and decisions at the right times last night. We're just a young, inexperienced, beaten down team. Times are tough, but we continue to fight. Thats all you can ask for right now. Maybe a few things will go our way next week and we can pull off a big win against South Carolina. At least we'll most likely see Justin Worley at QB so thats one positive thing to look forward to next week.
