The future is bright for VOLS

Some of you just can't see the forest for the trees. I agree that the ga st and BYU games were unacceptable, but firing a hc with very little head coaching experience with only 14 games under his belt is rediculous. You do that, you kiss half the 2020 recruits goodbye, discourage the team and stare down the barrel of a catastrophic season. Who's going to want to come here? The past 4 coaching searches worked out so well for us 🤔 There's a strong possibility of landing yet another no-name coach who'll have to start from scratch to get the current roster to buy in. No thanks. I don't know if Pruitt is/isn't the guy, but I'll tell you this, the man and his group of coaches sure have an eye for talent. His players aside from a couple upper-classmen are the best on the team. I'd rather let this sh*t-show season play out, get those youngsters more experience and give him time to flip the roster.

The future is bright for Tennessee...……………………………………………...if Jeremy Pruitt is fired before he brings about even more damage to the Tennessee football program:(
I'm not gonna defend the guy cause I'm at the point I could care less, but it's not all on the coaches. They can only do so much with the talent level they have and yes even against sun belt teams. We have talent all across the board but that talent is the incoming freshman and sophomores. Just my opinion, carry on.

These dumb*** fans are doing way more damage than the coaches ever could! Just saying.......the ish people write about their own team and coaches is insanity.

Again, he has been here for less than two years, inherited a dumpster fire from the previous coach, and has coached a total of 14 games, going 5-9. I think it is short sighted and immature to want to pull the trigger after that resume. Keep whining, the AD will continue to do things the right way.

You lost all credibility with the last sentence.

Please stop.

The university’s football may legitimately be dead at this point. I’ve never seen so many Tennessee fans on ALL a social media platforms saying they just don’t care anymore or are actually finding a new team. Never seen Vol fans saying things like that.
I wish every last one of them would go pull for some other team! Bunch of snowflakes! I know it hurts! I have been a fan for forty years; I get it. However, not showing support for your coach and team is beyond pathetic! That is the very thing that got us to this point!

I am over the fact that some get mad at others for being negative by the results we see on the field and then come with these "what if" and "member when" scenerios. Majors had a national championship and an actual reputation. This is a first time head coach with a first time AD at the reigns. Stop giving these people the same credit as those that have done it before.

You'd think a decade's worth of "what ifs" and "remember when" and "I got a feeling" and "Saban lost a game", people would learn that they are grasping at straws.

I mean sure, if you keep predicting something I guess eventually it will happen, but realize you literally are just saying it until it happens. You're not actually predicting anything or seeing any kind of evidence.

Sometimes you have to get rid of underperforming employees. You have to be man enough to admit you made a mistake and took a flier on a long shot. We are ready to fire the ad and muschamp if things go south. Tennessee and South Carolina are mirror images right now.

Or, perhaps, stop having the same expectations. Perhaps, just perhaps, 14 games is too early to fully judge a first time head coach and first time AD.

Is it really too much to ask to win games against teams like Georgia St & BYU?

What unrealistic expectations are you speaking of?

Well looks like your freshman QB might just save their jobs. We've got an easier schedule, 3rd yr QB and still can't get it done. We're doomed. I don't even want to utter those dreaded "next year" words. If Pruitt won't bench jg now and give a freshman a chance, it will be more of the same next season.

If you don’t think we were better in game 2 vs game 1 you simply don’t have a clue , are being obstinate or just an idiot.
I've been called all of the above before, so that doesn't really bother me. You are right. UT was better in some areas, but the fact remains we still found a way to lose to BYU at home. I meant this team isn't much changed from what we saw at the end of last season. Underachieves and finds new ways to lose games.

It is not unreasonable. I'm primarily speaking to those already on the Fire Pruitt train. If we let the fans decide who gets fired/hired and when, I suspect that wouldn't work out so well. So yes, losing to GA State especially is unacceptable. But, with this coaching staff (some assistance) and Fulmer, I still have hope. But, the 'growing pains' are much more painful than I anticipated. Somehow, I thought we might go 8-4.

I mean it couldn’t get much worse could it?

I said that last year, it can’t get much worse and boom, we get steamrolled by Ga. fuggin St.
Then let BYU come to Neyland Stadium and snatch Victory away in 2 OT’s. While looking absolutely Lost at times.....

Can it get Worse, possibly, until someone has the courage to end this Night Mare

i'm with ya on that. for some of our true freshmen playing in only their 2nd game and having been on campus 3 short months you can see that they are learning and learning fast. they make blunders but in this case they are going to. 2 more decent classes and we'll be in great shape. I think Pruitt is better than many on here give him credit for although I felt he should have attempted 2 FG's against BYU and we would have won.

I watched BYU play Utah. BYU is not very good, probably not much better than GA State. There is no way to credibly make an irrefutable statement that we improved. Teeman's opinion is every bit as valid as yours. You owe Teeman an apology.
Hey, I appreciate it, but it's ok. I'm far to old to be that easily offended.

What makes you so sure that Pruitt is going to do well?
The same reason these guys were sure Dooley was going to do well, then butch, now Pruitt and then whatever no name bozo we hire after they will be sure of him as well. It’s just what they do, and if you don’t share in their blind optimism you are the one who is an idiot and a negavol. Come on man you should have this down by now.

Wait, were you the guy calling for each to be fired after their first year? There's a difference between blind optimism, realism, and the 'glass is empty' types.

Nope, I’m the guy who always tries to give these guys time to show improvement, but by the end of year 2 I feel like you generally know what ya got. I came in to this season expecting to give Pruitt the full year to show some improvement over last year. I guess he still has 10 more games to show it to me but holy crap it could not have started off more disastrous. I was looking for 6-6 this year which by no way shape or form is asking to much, perhaps it will happen but I just don’t see how that’s possible. It wasn’t to much to ask for Pruitt to eat the cupcake he was given to start his second year. How he can’t even manage to do that is beyond me.

OK, that's pretty much where I'm at. I spent a good deal of time and money on that Georgia State game and still can't get my head around losing the game. I've got to see promise by the end of the year. I still believe (hope) that we have a good ball coach in Pruitt and over time, he's going to be a valued head coach. But still a chance we find he should remain an assistant.

Amen Pride05. We've had season tickets since 1970 and we've see this and worse before. Rebuilding is not instant, it's slow, methodical, stressful and sometimes disappointing. Pruitt will succeed her if he's left alone to do his job. STOP the negativity, recruits read your dumbass statements.
