In the struggle for survival, the fittest win out at the expense of their rivals because they succeed in adapting themselves best to their environment -
Charles Darwin

I'm so tired of reading all the posts blaming Fulmer, Kiffin, and now Dooley for the lackluster performance of our team.

Who are we going to blame in 3 years when we can no longer say "Fulmer's recruiting classes screwed us"

Who are we going to blame when Kiffin's last recruit left on the team asks for a release?

Who are we going to blame when Dooley.. ______ you fill in the blank.

The point is, we have to play the cards that we are dealt us. Whining constantly about how someone elses actions are screwing us is stupid. The fact is our team puts their jocks on the same way as every other team out there. They have the ability to leave it all on the field. That's why anything can happen on any given Saturday.

A leaf that is destined to grow large is full of grooves and wrinkles at the start. Now if one has no patience and wants it smooth offhand like a willow leaf, there is trouble ahead.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

We've got to patient and take the bad times along with the good. NO program maintains a constant level of success for much longer than a decade at any given period of time.

I'll leave you with one final favorite quote: "Success is not built on success. It's built on failure. It's built on frustration. Sometimes its built on catastrophe."
Sumner Redstone -

If Fulmer hadn't been successful in the 90's... we wouldn't be here today talking about his, Kiffin, Dooley, etc... failing.. We'd have never know the taste of victory.. of standing at the pinnacle, if he hadn't been successful. It was that success that ultimately doomed him. After a few rough years.. we'll once again remember what success feels like.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'd rather be a VOL and be 2-8 than be a Gator and be 12-0. Good times or bad.. most of us here will always bleed Tennessee Orange.

I agree with your post.

My questions is: "Why MUST we have someone to blame?"

The guys who do nothing but dwell on the past drive me crazy. It is a complete waste of time. I know the guys that do that must have difficulty being successful in life, because you can't dwell on the "what-could-have-beens" when you can be actively making progress toward the future.

I am very happy Dooley has this type of attitude and to tell you the truth, it's the best attitude to have. Sure, we don't have a lot of talent here now, nor depth. However, he doesn't back track and give excuses why were aren't winning this year. He is focused and driven on HOW TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I believe he has a great plan in place and I have no doubt he will execute that plan well.

I and excited for our football teams future, I really am. Because I think it'll be back a lot faster than people think.

It's always someone's fault

There is always someone who has to correct it, and I guarantee you people who actually have successes do not sit and think "Boy, my job would've been a lot easier if _____ didn't..."

It's important we learn from our mistakes so we don't duplicate them, but searching for someone to point the finger at is just wasted energy.

Darwin went on to say that 'It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.'

Mahatma Ghandi said “We must become the change we want to see.”

Guess what guys...we're in the middle of a huge change.

We're adapting as we go.

We, as fans, should stay positive. There's a whole thread on who Poole was calling out about not "buying into the system"; which players Kiffin's or Fulmer's were to blame. I submit that maybe Poole was calling out some of the fan base.

It's a process. We'll come out stronger on the other side.

Punctuated equilibrium is a pain in the arse to go through though....

There are two types of people: Those who get knocked down and get back up. Those who get knocked down and stay down and ask for help the rest of their lives. GBO!!!

So answer me this then...did Rod Wilks rest on the seventh day?

That's a trick question. Rod took a dump on the seventh day and accidentally created Mississippi, Alabama, and the Florida panhandle. God originally intended the greatest state, Tennessee to have a southern beachfront to compliment the plains of the west and the mountains of the east.
