CD's came out in 82 but probably didn't start surpassing cassettes until late 80's. I was 4 so I definitely wasn't buying CD's then. I definitely remember still buying cassettes in middle school.
Bought an Onkyo 5 CD changer, receiver, turntable with speakers and a Cerwin-Vega sub woofer at Circuit City. Went to Tower records and bought (album names) Pump, Van Halen, Grand Illusion, Boston and Genesis. This was...I guess it was after 89 lol.

I can no longer remember, might have been this. Could have been a Billy Idol CD or Fleetwood Mac Rumors. Led Zepplin II was another early one. I started buying a lot of the classic rock albums on CD and a lot of Classical music CDs right after getting my first CD player for Christmas in '85.
