The Film Guy on JA and Brazzell

Think he got those switched. Moe has played well and grades out better than Sham. Brooks also had the ALL22 game tape that shows film from the above perspective at various places on the field. The camera angle that clearly showed the guy fell down was a closeup from down at ground level on the sideline during the TV broadcast. I watched the video when it dropped too...and there were already about 80 comments from VOLS fans about that OPI 🤣 He stickied a comment at the top asking people to not get caught up on that OPI comment and said he appreciates us watching. I am glad he breaks down our tape. Having seen that double clutch 35 yard perfect pass that Joey threw...while standing IN the endzone in Safety danger...the way he recoiled his body and threw that thing up without ever moving his feet was amazing. That was an amazing play period. If he let it fly on the 1st try it either gets batted down in his face or intercepted. Love it when Brooks grinds our tape and he does it regularly now because he has a big VOLS audience despite being a UGA alum.
He played football at and graduated from Shorter College, not UGA. He does UGA work for SI.com. Also does a lot of recruiting coverage for SI.

He’s a buttsniffer. Yeah he shows the plays but his knowledge isn’t a lot higher than most good middle school coaches.

Sham has been the left guard. I notice he doesn’t say alot of good about a Ga kid (sham, Matthews, West) that plays for Tennessee.
He has talked up West and Josephs, who also played high school ball in GA, after the MSU game. He also talked up Caleb Herring after the UGA game.

Well, for now he is right about Matthews. Talent through the roof but needs to be more consistent in both blocking and catching.

Apparently Greg McElroy recently did a Top 10 ranking for NCAA Qbs after 5 weeks. Aguilar didn't make his list or his honorable mention list, despite being top 6 in both passing yards and TDs nationally. He also leads the SEC in yards and TDs.

In short, McElroy is a Alabama shill and, in the words of Ricky Bobby, his opinion "ain't worth a velvet painting of a whale and a dolphin getting it on."
I dont think is his Alabama bias, i think they are still hating on Heupel's system and Joey's INTs

About West, he said something like “DL from Ga that Ga don’t want, like Tyree West, end up elsewhere”

Herring is from MBoro

He is very high on Heupel this year. I think TheFilmGuy really enjoys coaches who take what they have and adapt to make it successful instead of trying to stick to one methodology and shoehorn your players into it.

Brooks is the best out there at breaking down tape. There are a couple others too but they lack his depth and the polish of his videos. He has improved over time and it shows IMO. He is a bit of a Pups homer...and doesnt is try to hide it nor where he lives....but he is a BIG fan of CJH and staff and you can tell in his VOLS videos that he genuinely has no hate for us even as a rival of UGA. He also calls out UGA groups or individuals when they get whipped on the field which I like. I am certainly not a football "expert" but I did play through HS, and Brooks has never said something regarding formations, plays, techniques etc that I don't agree with or that runs counter to what I was taught as a player. No pun intended. He has heaped praise on UT players including Sampson and Pearce last year, and Joey and Brazzell this year...he even said that Brazzell should be the 1st WR drafted in the next draft. I am thankful everytime he makes a UT video

People who just see stats and scoreboard definitely should watch his breakdowns. For example on the goalline throw where JA hitched then threw, we couldn’t see the field on tv and the announcer questioned why he hitched. This guy shows why. Nico or Merk throws that ball into the leaping db or takes a sack while JA hitches then leads the receiver flicking one out in a busy pocket.
Really good film study each week from plays like this to WRs not blocking to a D call on 3rd and 6 with safeties 25 yards deep.

He seems to have a genuine love for the game, and to enjoy good play.

I've only watched his material as it relates to UT. He seems to be a fan of Huepel and even challenges all the "gimmick" narratives out there. He also seems to be very fair with his review of the "tape". It surprised me he initially called it OPI. Glad he retracted.
it's funny that people in here are "poo pooing" him. He gives an objective take on our games and I enjoy the content as I'm not an X's and O'x expert. It reminds me that it's a lot more complicated than just saying the typical cliches of "we got out coached". "we don't make half time adjustments"

Regarding the Xs and Os, gonna pat myself on the back here.

Because of the stuff he posts on UT, I was able to see a formation and predict the WR target at a WKU game two weeks ago. I tried to strut my stuff go McRib and it went about as well as you'd expect. But I was proud of it.

He does a pretty good dive into some schematics involving the offensive side of the ball. I enjoy watching it, I use to want to coach and took a deep dive for a couple years (know way too much useless info that I can’t use now 😅) he does a pretty decent job. I think it is a positive for fans to be more educated, cuts down ( a little) of just stupid football comments.

Exactly right. Every person who comments on games and coaching should watch his breakdowns, or someone similar if they have access. He also appears to have angles of plays viewers didn’t have.

That's what I love most about Joey. He's fearless and decisive. Literally the opposite of Nico. He's tailor made for a Josh Heupel offense. God I hope we get him for one more year brother. Can you imagine what he can do with another year in our system?

That play was metal . I'd take Joey in a foxhole with me anytime. If you watch the brèakdown from the endzone view behind our LOS...Joey double pumped a ball he was already heaving for a 35yd crosser...standing IN the endzone where a Safety is a very possible outcome...and the Center in front of him has his eyes locked on a LB to Joeys right. There is NOTHING but air between Joey and those 2 Dlinemen 6feet away from him that jumped up in the air to block or grab his pass. The brass balls and ice cold demeanor it took for Joey to pull that ball back, recoil again without having room to properly set his feet a 2nd time, and sling that ball out on a rope 35 yards leading Brazzell perfectly is just flat amazing.

People on here like to say Joey doesnt have arm talent or a strong arm too...watch that film of the pass that Matthews drops!! 60 yards in the air...and thats WITH all the extra force to make it a "rainbow" trajectory so the nose of the ball drops down in the WRs hands....IN stride for the TD. The 73yd TD pass to Staley in the 1st qtr of the Syracuse game was also a 60yd in the air rainbow that again hit the WR PERFECTLY in stride for the TD. His arm isnt as strong as Milton's...I dont know if anyone in the NFL has a stronger arm than Bazooka Joe. Its as strong as half the QBs that start in the NFL though...and he throws a better deep ball than most of them. Its a thing of beauty and we will miss it when its gone.
