The fans got what they wanted

Oh stfu. Fans didn’t want someone who even had the possibility of witnessing and covering up child rape. Schiano never never should have been offered the job period end of story. The fact that Currie didn’t know this was in his past was mind boggling.
I don’t know about the “Schiano looking the other way” stories. Some , including Finebaum consider it bogus. I didn’t want Schiano because he lost his team’s players in the NFL by year two and the fact he tried to hurt Eli and Peyton when they played their teams. He tried to undermine and torpedo and injure both Qb’s at the end of games when they were lined up in victory formations. I remember the two plays against Eli and the Giants very clearly.

Fans aren't the reason he didn't get hired and a guy who looks away from child rape should never be an option

But did he? The allegation is pretty thin. It's basically someone told someone that he said he might have seen something odd.

Schiano has nothing to do with anything. He's also a pr*ck, not a good coach and just an all around horrible human being. I don't regret him not being hired.

And the fact that Schiano was ever even involved speaks to how incompetent the university and athletic department are.

Let’s just say it’s only a remote possibility that he witnessed that? Are you going to hire the man for a job this high profile? With potential to do so much damage cause so much scandal for your program? The fact that they were unaware of any of this in Schiano’s past is mind boggling.

The allegation alone should've been enough to make UT look the other way from him, especially given his record as a coach isn't exactly blazing any trails of immense success. It's not like UT was willing to take that allegation into consideration with a coach that was a sure fire pick to take us back to prominence. He's a crappy coach WITH baggage.

Remember when Clemson hired Dabo as Interim while they did a thorough search but they were pleased with his trial period. I would rather try Steele on an interim basis while we go out and spend on a big time world shaker coach.Don't settle for a coordinator or a G5 coach just ride the interim out until we get a homerun hire. We can wait we've been in an abyss for over 10 years.

If I'm not mistaken the fans wanted a Big Name coach but we got a DC from one of our biggest rivals......not really the same.

Well, with the administrative idiots we have in power, no big name coach is going to be dumb enough to take the job. At this point, the good ones get a call, hear, "Tennessee", and start laughing. About the only thing the Tennessee administration knows about integrity is how to spell and pronounce it. And the whole world, especially in coaching circles realize it.

It's not the fans fault. The admin gets heat for stupid decisions by people with PHD's. The common sense thing to do would have been to hire an interim coach after the Schiano and Kiffin fiasco. Why TN needed to rush into a long term contract with a coach with no experience is beyond me...

since they are the reason Schiano wasn't hired, which led to Pruitt.
That’s like saying, since the fans didn’t want cancer, they deserved Ebola. Just because one thing is bad doesn’t mean you have to settle for something else that is bad as well

Still happy we didn’t get Schiano. Don’t pretend we missed out on something. Apparently the only place that wanted him as a HC was his old job, Rutgers, no one else even giving him a look. Probably would have been firing him this year or next anyway.
Ohio State didn't even look at him. They were making a big deal about UT backing away from him

EVERY Coach on Penn State's staff knew WTH was going on. To infer otherwise is an insult to the Hundreds of Victims over the 20 years or more it occurred.

No I don't think we fans did. I believe the AD will make another incompetent hire after the transfer portal fills up.
