This was the first time I had the opportunity to go to a game in Knoxville. Everything was exactly what I'd hoped for. Thumping Kentucky, the Vol walk, the roar of the crowd. The atmosphere from the time I got there walking around was awesome, I'm like an addict right now. I want some more! I say that for this, I know times have been rough for a few years, but how can a fan not love Tennessee, or ever say I'm done! Especially, with the potential we have. Its great to be a Vols fan.

Its the best experience in college football!

If you can get to Knoxville in the offseason, do yourself a huge favor and schedule a personal tour of Neyland. My wife gave me that as a gift for my birthday last February and it was awesome. Going into the locker room, press room, luxury boxes, all the behind the scenes stuff, incredible.

Glad you got to enjoy the day, the game, the university, the venue. And jealous.

Just wait until you get the chance to share that unbelievable experience with your kids. I love it when my daughter wears her Vol Girl shirt to school in Florida and my son proudly wears his UT gear in Tallahassee. Next year they both may be in Knoxville which makes me and my sweet wife very proud Volunteers!!!:salute:

The greatest. My wife and I travel from the St. Louis area every year to at least 1 home game. We will be making the journey next weekend to root for the VOLS. There isnt anything else in College Football that can compete with NEYLAND....... Its great to be a Tennessee VOL. ANd congrats on your first trip. Semper FI.....

Thank you for your service to our Great Country. As the son of a veteran, please know how grateful we are for your service. My Dad was in Special Forces so I truly appreciate Forever Faithful. Again, thank you for being a Volunteer and thank you for your service to our Country!

Yes. It's one of those rare venues where opposing fans want to enjoy the experience as well. It's a great experience for any college football fan.

I've been going to games there since I was a kid in the 60's. We had season tix in the old north stands which were wooden bleachers. It was even a special place back then. Today, it's over the top.

It's always a blast when you win! Now, on the other hand, I've also been in Neyland for..

2005 USC, lost 16-15
2012 UF, lost bad
2012 Mizzou, lost after 4 OT's
2014 UF, lost 10-9

Losses suck. Walking out of the UF game this year felt like a funeral.

The loses are hard, but the wins are Awesome! Pain of the bad times make the good ones so sweeeeet!
I agree the Florida loss was bad, but it was still a great day at Neyland with the checkerboard and excitement. I don't' regret going at all.

Can't win em all. I've got several worse than your 4, but here are four that stand out.

I was also at all four of the games you listed.

1986 Army 25 Vols 21
1990 Bama 9 Vols 6 (we were top 5, Bama unranked).
1996 Florida 35 Vols 29 (35-7 @ half)
1999 @ Arky 28 Vols 24 (we were #3, Arky unranked - cost us potential rematch vs FSU in BCS)

Had an excellent time last night. Everyone should experience Neyland! Greatest stadium on the planet. And yes crowd was much quieter than normal. But it was kensucky! What did you expect? Wait til Mizzou. We will be rocking as a win puts us bowling! GBFO!

I was able to take my four year old son to his first game last night and after the game all the way to the car he said " it's great to be a tennessee vol!" Made me very proud! A memory I'll never forget.

How does one schedule this personal tour? I'd love to do this for my Hubby....as long as I get to tag along. :p

It's pretty easy. Go to the UT website, proceed to the facilities tab and then to Neyland stadium. The info is right there. The tour is given by students, and it's pretty much full access, except for actually walking on the actual field. You can slap the "I will give my all for Tennessee today" sign above the locker room doors and look right out that tunnel onto the field right by the goal post. Lots of goosebumps moments. Was a great thrill. We live in Ohio and get down to Knoxville for few football games and bball games a couple times a year.

Enjoy it!
