One thing that bothers me about this whole situation is the downright refusal by this coaching staff to use the talent they have RECRUITED in a way that gives us the best chance to win. Butch also refuses to admit that they are doing a poor job coaching the talent that he puts on the field, constantly blaming youth, inexperience, and "process."

What puts the envy in my heart is when I see other teams who have no business doing what they are doing at a time when they have no business doing it. McElwain comes into Florida with a depleted offensive roster and is now sitting as a top 20 team at 5-0, all while using freshman and sophomores. Dan Mullen has success at Mississippi State with arguably less talent than the vols. Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn had early success with good recruiting classes. Let's be honest, Michigan hasn't recruited nearly as well as the Vols in the past few years yet Harbaugh has them ranked for the first time in quite some time.

It's quite obvious this staff is in over their heads and can't figure out a way to win. Injuries and attrition happen on every team in college football, yet the good coaches find a way to win through scheme and out-coaching the opponent. I'm downright tired of Butch throwing out excuses... youth and inexperience got you those three separate 14+ point leads, and most all other coaching staffs would have secured the win. Why this staff can't do it frustrates me to high heavens and makes me want a competent coaching staff even more!!! God forgive me for the envy inside.

pretty much spot on. Talent going to waste in a major way. WR talent being wasted. They barely use Kamara. Run the same base call on defense and dont use alot of the guys we thought we would see. We have a headcase kicker as usual. Its brutal. We have Evan Berry who is dynamic as they come and he only sees the ball on kick returns when he is not going to see the field on defense. So youre telling me we couldnt use him on offense some too? what a joke this staff is.

My wife is from Illinois and I have loosely followed them for a few years. They sit at 4-1 right now.... I'm thinking of changing shades of Orange :dunno:

And they fired their coach a week before their first game. Granted their 4 wins aren't that impressive but still.

Yup, another example of how a coach can motivate his players in the face of adversity, which is something our coach obviously lacks.

It's about the System:

Butch’s football system is a microcosm of current society. It’s not about the individual, its about group effort. Its about six for three, or three in six, or whatever the current mantra dictates. Its about choreographing a scene. Watching the System is like watching Riverdance, you want to like it, but you feel like you’re making a faustian trade in order to seal the deal.

The System is not about promoting an individual based on their God-given talents and ability, it’s about teaching everyone to play their respective role within the System.

The System is great for a coaching staff. Coaches don’t have to inventory team talents and create plays that utilize the strengths of individuals each year. Coaches simply find players that fit the System or they fashion, beat, and corrupt great players until they work within the System.

Man, I hate the System.

We have no talent on the OL.. That is the biggest issue.. No else matters until that is fixed

i know we dont. Florida doesnt have much on the OL either but they still make it work. Lots of times theres plays to be made but we just cant make them with our WRs and QB.

So the coaches can't scheme around that? Roll Dobbs out of the pocket? Use a two tight-end set? Throw a quick seam route? There are ways to hide your weak links. This staff just doesn't have the moxie to coach around it. BTW, Florida OL says hi.

EDIT: didn't see your post about Florida OL, duly noted

Florida used THREE freshmen offensive lineman against us most of the 2nd half and was able to dominate our defensive line which should have won that battle. So either we are being out-recruited by our peers OR our players are not being coached up OR our scheme sucks and we are too predictable OR the Butch Jones "deer in the headlights" look in every 4th quarter is rubbing off on our players. Excuses are like a**holes, everybody has one. Does anyone really believe Alabama, Florida or even Georgia (Richt chokes in big games, but he wins 10 games almost every year) would tolerate performances like these?

We managed to move the ball well last night thanks to Hurd and Kamara. Funny how we have all this talent at WR and our best receiving threat is a RB or a TE. Our best receiver right now not a tight end is a true freshman (PW with 117 yards) and only two others over 100, and we are almost halfway through the season!
