The starters are all juniors and seniors...and are not getting the job done...put in some younger guys and get them some reps...they couldn't do much worse...

It's one thing to have ZERO offense. But it's a whole other story when your offense is SOO BAD that they are essentialy the other team's offense.

They are only as good or bad as the coaching they have received. I don't feel it's their fault.

I think a lot of it has to do with the scheme. How many times do you look down and see no tight ends and an empty backfield leaving only five guys to block, then the defense brings the linebackers up, and you just see that the pay cannot work before the ball is even snapped. Clawson's gimmicks can work at I-AA, but the SEC derfenses are a bit different than that.

It is an absolute train wreck.

You can't bench these guys, they didn't come off the field mad (kicking the dirt) when they made a bad play. Don't you know that is Fulmer's criteria for getting benched.

Maybe we can steal the O-line from TExas tEch!!!
They actually are effective.
Maybe we caould switch the O-line with the D-line

Try Berry at offensive guard, line Ayers up beside him at tackle and run behind them 90 percent of the time.

I agree let some of the younger guys have a chance I mean how pathetic that an offensive line where they all weigh about 300 pounds cannot get enough push to make 4 and inches come on man up and push those guys off the line. It is so frustrating I swear I think I could play better than them

The O- line was supposed to be the one sure thing that nobody had to worry about.Put some younger guys in.

Really? It's the players and not the coaches? That's a novel idea.

I agree, our OL is terrible. Everyone wants to take Stephens out and put Coleman in, and I'm not sure what good that would do. Stephens has been pretty solid considering how bad our OL has been. However, Crompton just plain sucked.

This O-line has taken a step back from last year, pretty much the same guys getting playing time. What is the only thing different? Clawsons scheme, draw from that what you will.

I liked the Clawson pick. But the more I think about it the offensive line scheme he brought with him is really a capitulation at the line of scrimmage as a matter of theory. It now strikes me as fundamentally unsound. What puzzles me more is that Fulmer would have bought into it.

The schemes are fine. It just exposes the fact that Adkins is terrible.

I've never seen coaching so diametrically opposed to the laws of physics than I have with him around.

I did read a little while ago that some believe Adkins didn't buy into the new scheme. Do you think he is that bad or that it is a combination of the new scheme and Adkins ability?

Two or three years ago, I saw a bunch of still pictures of offensive practice; specifically, it was the line blocking.

Scheme will never be the problem with Adkins around. It's not possible to forcibly move someone by grabbing them under the armpits, but that's apparently what he teaches them.

I'm no expert but when I played (O-line and D-line) I found that if I could extend and lock my arms while pass blocking I could keep him in front of me. If I grabbed jersey and he made a move to the left or right I wasn't expecting I lost leverage. If he made a move when I had my arms extended I could recover and use his direction of momentum against him and drive him to the ground.

Run blocking was much easier hit him hard and get under him, I could take him wherever I wanted at that point.

Your knowledge of blocking dramatically exceeds Greg Adkins'.

I recognize that's damning with faint praise, but still...

So Fulmer was supposedly a good o-line coach, why didn't he step in or better yet get rid of Adkins??? Rhetorical question...unless Fulmer is reading this and would care to comment.

A head coach normally has enough on his plate that being a positional coach is normally out of the question.
