The Endzone - Is this Rumor True Thread

The decisions are as much economic as anything. Dooley will stay. The only change I could envision would be with the offensive coaches. Something needs to be done with the kicking game.

Agreed. Do you think bringing in a new OC would set us back too far?

He inherited a very ****ty situation. I love the guy he is and the recruiting he has done. As a coach all you can do is prepare your team. It is their job to execute. A few times I've noticed a bad gameplan, but many of the problems lie in the execution. Dropping passes, bad decisions, not making a tackle. None of these are Coach Dooley's problems. People talk about his halftime adjustments. Many times we go into halftime with the game still being close. It's in the second half that we lose it, because of a variety of problems. Why, if the first half went so well, would be make adjustments and change what we're doing?

This year was the perfect storm, rather imperfect storm, of happenings. Suspensions and injuries devastated our starting lineup and the people behind them were behind them for a reason and it was obvious in their play.

I like how honest Coach Dooley is about his team, but he needs to be honest about himself and his staff more, too. In ethics we learned about being humble and taking on personal responsibility. It's easy to make excuses, and in a lot of cases, they were spot on. But sometimes you just have to own up to the things you could have done differently.

I think Da'Rick Rogers is a very talented player, but he is almost more harmful than he is helpful. I've been on a team where the star player can get away with things, and I see it with him. There was no one to take his spot and Hunter was already out, so maybe Dooley's hand was forced. If Rogers doesn't mature next year, though, his ass needs to be suspended. He does some bull**** things out there and he causes a rift between players and possibly coaches too.

Coach can recruit with the best of them. The talent we are bringing in will get us to the top. And I think the staff can develop them. We just have to get over the hump. We have to institute a winning culture. No matter how good your team is you have to believe in yourselves and your ability.

He needs another year, and 9 wins in that year to stay on. He needs stability in the staff to be successful next year and also to hold the recruiting class together.

Something is wrong with out line and run game and I'm not knowledgeable enough to know whether it is on Chaney or Heistead. One of them will get run, and rightfully so. Something is just off there. They have the talent, just not performing as well as they should and could.

If you fire Dooley now it will just set us back even more. There's not really a coach on the market that I can see as good enough to risk the move. I really like Coach Dooley. Great guy and someone I would love to play for. He's honest and players need to be as mentally tough as they are physically tough or they won't succeed anyways.
Sorry for any errors, just typed as things ran through my head.

Wilcox is staying for now. There is a chance he is gone, but he's not just jumping ship. He does like it here.

Dooley's job is safe right now, but there is some truth to the rumors about some steam building up for change.

The general census on the hill is that Dooley has lost the ship.
