This was more about trying to force the conferences to fall into line with those sitting out. It makes no difference from their lofty ivory tower who they annoint, if college football is played and the schools who play use a format to determine a champion, then so be it, they will be champions whether the NCAA decrees it or not. If the Big 10, PAC12, and Notre Dame are left quaking under their beds afraid to participate, oh well. This has turned into the Saul Alinsky model of politicizing everything is all that going on here.
