The East is officially wide open

Not sure where I said that. Try harder to follow along here. UT will NOT win the division. ZERO chance. Understand football is a game that revolves around talent.

Because App State was on the same talent level as Michigan.

anyone thinking we win East is on crack, seriously, I would be ecstatic if we win 1 game in October without Hunter. Hopefully that 1 win is against Georgia to help with recruiting.

IF TN won all the remaining games except for at Alabama it would win the east because UF is going to have many more losses now, and TN would own the tiebraker v. the rest of the east. There is a good chance the east winner will have three conference losses, so that means TN could drop both LSU and Bama and still win the east if it wins the rest.

Go VOLS.

i think we can win the division.. but that means we go 5-3 and florida goes 4-4.. which is reasonable.. theyl get hammered by LSU next week,, thats already 2 losses

Let me rephrase, I've heard from very reliable sources that TN wins the east.

Winning 5 out of 7? You'll kill KY and Vandy but ...LSU,Bama,UGa,USC,Arky that's a lot to ask.

We lose 2 of those. BAMA is the certain loss. No way anyone beats them this year. I'm still not convinced ARK is anything super special.

I know that "what ifs" are completely pointless but I guarantee we wouldn't have lost less than 10 games this year with Justin not hurt. I'm guessing 8-4 now without him. Having him and Da'rick just changes everything. Take the FL game for example, our defense did not look that bad but FL started in incredible field position every drive after the injury. It is just a chain reaction. I hate to say one guy means that much because it's a team game, but in this case he really completely changes the game. We are 4-0 with JH.

I'm not one to say that next year is the year, every single year, but I honestly believe we win the East next season. I just think that trio, plus our whole Oline with yet another full year starting together will be the most highly powered offense in the nation.

I tell you this, if we do win the east.<---(i doubt very seriously) There is NO WAY i would want to play Bama or LSU twice.

I always feel like I have to add disclaimers but here it is...LSU and Bama are tremendously hard games for the Vols, but to say that you dont want to play them twice (in the SECCG no less) souns like you are "playing scared" and we all know what playing the game scared means...injuries. So if we are playing scared here not wanting to play either team twice what are the possible "injuries":

1. Depriving National Spotlight
2. Depriving hardwork
3. Possible recruits lost
4. Missing an oppurtunity to get Tennessee on the perrenial track again.

By chance that we made it to the SECCG it would be fought for and earned by that team, even a loss in that game would bode well for the VOLS.

Id love for TN to get a second shot at Alabama this season and by some fluke beat them in the SEC CG and give Saban some pay back (i.e. LSU over TN in 2001)

Not saying it'll happen but that is the exact scenario as the last time the Vols made it in, or?

Hmmm...Didn't USC back in last year with a 5-3 in the SEC.

I think UT can go 5-3 in the SEC. UGA isn't looking strong and they got beat by USC who isn't looking very good and Ark is looking weaker and weaker. That leaves Vandy and UK to round off 5 wins.

Bama isn't a certain loss...just very likely. Their bus could crash, food poising or someone could replace their stick'um with vaseline.

We are going to have to beat Alabama or LSU (and Arky, USC, GA) to have a chance.

That said, we don't have a chance.

NOBODY knows. So can those who dont "think" we will win the east, stop proclaiming that we will NOT win the east. YOU DO NOT KNOW. Any upset can happen and for whatever reason we could beat both LSU and Bama and then lose to USCjr and Ark or the other way around or whatever combination you want. If it was a given would they play the ******* games? NO.

We have to argue about something...

On a brighter note hope over to the UGA blog the comments are hilarious...I am pretty sure some are implying that their remaining schedule is tough...RIGHT

True, its not very fun to admit we do not have crazy abilities that allow us to predict the outcome of seasons.

me too after the doc gave me pain pills :lolabove:

What street doctor did you go to 20-25 mins after your blown ACL? Just curious cause I went to the emergency room and I didnt actually get any real pain pills until after the surgery...you are making me question the validity of your statement...and yes I honestly could although not peerfect but I thought that I made myself look like a big pansy thinking I only sprained it or something
