Brantley is out for the rest of the game. Going to be interesting if he's out for the rest of the year.

Not sure where I said that. Try harder to follow along here. UT will NOT win the division. ZERO chance. Understand football is a game that revolves around talent.

Why is it that you come across like a screaming child in the majority of your posts?

Serious question. If you want to be so negative why do you even post on here?

Please answer this question? You are on a vol site and please dont say you are being a realist.
Because UGA/USCe/Arky have not shown they are better than us. We have also out recruited USCe and Arky the last 4 years.

Finally we have the best player at the most important position.

Sorry you jackass but we beat GA/USCe/Arky and we win the east with a 5-3 record.

Your wisdom is unfathomable.

I just checked the standings. We have one loss. So, right now we are still in it. I will continue to enjoy that as long as it lasts. No team in east has shown me they are clearly better and are going to win em all. So take your all Vol Internet name, and please go follow another team. Maybe Georgia. After start they had, they even have a good shot to end up in Atlanta. If you can't believe in UT, maybe they will be better suited.

It's college football, not a cult. You don't have to suspend disbelief and ignore reality in order to be a fan.

Exactly. Being, football, anything can happen. If any of it was certain, why play. Ask Auburn if they should of bothered last year. None of you know any more than I on how it plays out. If you are a fan, enjoy it, have hope, get lucky.

While I agree that you should sit back and enjoy the ride, my point was that that being a fan doesn't preclude you from reaching an honest conclusion about what you think is going to happen. It gets old seeing anything other than sunshine get labeled "negavol".

oh my goodness...some of you people are insane - saying we have ZERO chance..and saying we will NOT make it to ATL ... that is just plain ridiculous false garbage...

saying we may not, or probably won't would be fine, but saying there is no way is just silly. We have the best QB in the league. And I am NOT saying he is as good as Peyton (
not yet anyways) but Peyton won the Super Bowl with a weak (by comparison to other teams' D) and a heavy heavy passing attack. And I'm NOT sayign we're the Colts, but we're also not playing the Patriots or Steelers.. we're playing the Bulldogs and Gamecocks and Razorbacks.. all very beatable... yes we are too but so are they

we give up huge plays to everybody. we cant run the ball. our receivers drop way too many passes. i cant even conceive the notion of competing fot the east.

The SEC east is such a big question mark as of this probable Florida loss. The CBS announcer just said that Georgia has a shot at it.
If Georgia does, then so do we. :)

Fair enough. In my mind UT has an at the very best, 10% chance to get to Atlanta. Mostly by the hope the rest of the east really stumbles, more than UT beating 2 top 3 teams. Being labeled a negavol is more to do with how things are said, more than what. But this is the Internet and it is full of people like that.

So I will say that after this weekend I feel much better about the East schedule, and us having a CHANCE to play in the SECCG in Dec. Our WEST schedule however will be unrelenting. After watching BAMA tonight I just dont know, but I still think they are our best chance for a big upset, pivoltal win for the Vols. Mainly because LSU has a pretty stellar secondary especially Mathieu or however its spelled. There is no reason we should not have the oppurtunity to be in the game with Georgia and S.Carolina. i think we should also be in the game with Arky (although if we are it will be a crazy shootout), and like I said before our best chance for a shocking upset would be Bama. Lots of ifs though. I JUST WANT TO FOCUS ON GEORGIA NOW. Its back to big boy football to quote Malik Jackson.

I don't see how anybody that has watched any of the teams from the east thinks that we can't go unbeaten in the east the rest of the way. Of course we could lose against GA and SC, but that is not a given. We play them at home so we definitely can beat them (not to be confused with we will beat them).

Our problem is that we would need to win 2 out of 3 against arky, bama, and lsu. Not impossible, but certainly not the easiest task. At least we play LSU here.

In reality, everything is playing out just about exactly like most people thought it would. Nobody really thought Florida would beat bama (at least not anybody with all their teeth and who does not own a pair of jorts). SC was going to lose to either ga or the barn. And we faired as most pre-season analysts thought against the swamp.

It is still wide open, but Georgia seems to have the path of least resistance (after they play us of course)

I would when your QB could get injured and out for the year against a ridiculous defense that would absolutely destroy us. Let UGA go and get absolutely demolished. Let's go to a bowl game with momentum and a possibility of a ranking with a 9-4 season. We will not beat Bama this year, I will bet you any amount of money you want. It's foolish to want to play them twice. Now, if LSU gets in the championship game it's a different story, but that won't happen because Bama is going to beat them too.

UGA's schedule is too easy the rest of the way., Don't see them losing more then 2 conference games max. I see us losing at least two more, probably three. Didn't realize how hard UF's schedule was, they may lose 3 straight (Bama, LSU, at Auburn). They also have to go to USCe, so hopefully we can get in a better bowl game than them with Brantley out.

I just hope that in 30 days that football life still looks positive for Tennessee. No matter what anyone thinks on here, pretty sure that we can all agree that October is brutal and has been for the last several years. Honestly will be thrilled to be 5-3 at the end, and before all you people come out of the woodwork and tell me that we should not be for mediocrity at Tennessee need not reply. I understand wanting to be back on top but we have some work left before that. I like our chances though, and one thing is for sure...Tennessee is moving in an upward motion and will continue to do so just cant forget that even if we come out of October 4-4 we are building a NEW foundation for the future success of the program. That all being said I want nothing more than to be 6-2 with a win over BAMA. Go Vols.
