Does anyone have prior experience on how long this drive usually takes on gameday? I know the game being at 11 freakin' 30 in the morning won't help at all!

GO BIG ORANGE!!!

The best part of the drive is just west of Bham there is a sign that warns about the "One World Order". Or it used to. Has anyone else seen it? I always laugh. Alabama is full of kooks.

I talked to a friend that drove to the Miss State game...she said there was Interstate construction between Birmingham and T-town...sounds like traffice will be horrible. Leave early!!

That's what I was afraid of... maybe we'll just go on to Tuscaloosa Friday and sleep in the car! :snoring:

I live in Birmingham and am very familiar with drive to Tuscaloosa. Here are my suggestions: Leave at 8 and get there by 9:30. Normally a 50 minute drive on weekdays, but probably really slow on Sat morning. Some construction on interstate around the Mercedes plant, but not bad. Once in Tuscaloosa, turn on McFarland Blvd and go towards campus. You will see signs. Turn left on to University Blvd from McFarland. Then park anywhere you can find and walk towards campus and stadium. Stadium in heart of campus. Further you have to walk, easier it is to get back to Birmingham. Good luck and see you there! GO VOLS!!!!

6-7 years ago I went to the UT/Bama game in Tuscaloosa and it wasn't too bad getting there. After the game was awful. It took us about 4 hours to get to Birmingham, although it was a 3:30 game...this year may be different with the traffic.

I think a lot of people show up a couple of days early to tailgate and what not. I would plan on staying the night after the game...or at least plan on staying in Tuscaloosa for 4-5 hours since it is an afternoon game.

I'd think you'd be closer to try and stay in Columbus, MS (where I stayed last weekend for MSU game) and drive the 40 miles or so to T-town from Columbus on 82.

......but if you already have reservations, its a moot point.

Yeah but if you stay in Columbus it is 2 lane speed trap Abalama style on 82. Bham to Ttown as has been said on here is a 50 min drive. Game day morning ther will be 90,000 abalama fans trying to get there as well. and since 20/59 is the only major interstate coming in to the city, you may want to leave pretty dern early!!
