The drive-by post game handshake

running the original video forward a bit, I captured this still image a little over a second later...oops!

I was thinking that LSU Freak would run one that has CLK's hand out and then shows him pull it back and do the "fix your hair" move.

This handshake BS is only a big deal to some Vol fans. Not a big deal to anyone else. That should tell them something.

Haha, UT fans complaining about RUTS? And I thought this was a new era of UT football.

I saw the shake and wondered what the fanbase would think. Honestly, I didn't expect to see this many UT fans a little upset with it - I guess it proves some of you are still a little sane, despite all that orange. ;)

It didn't look good and the camera was on Kiffin's face and that told the whole story. I see some of you courting the idea that Beamer was the the cause for the short handshake but he looks more stunned than Kiffin does and Kiffin's attitude/look never changes. This is the South - not some beach community on the west coast. We are prided for our Southern hospitality and you'd really have to go out of your way to find a Tennesseean, which I am, that doesn't take pride in their southern heritage. It's really just more of the same from him.

Amen! Even Sabin (a winning coach) has some class.

I hadn't even bothered to keep up with this "controversy" until this week back at work.

I've had no less than 10 VT fans SWEAR TO GOD that Lane Kiffin was not only rude to Frank Beamer, but also DID NOT SHAKE HIS HAND.

I live in SW VA and the Hokie fans here cannot let it go.

Anyway, to resolve the dispute, if anyone here still believes that Kiffin (1) did not shake Beamer's hand, and (2) did not look Beamer in the eye doing so,

please go to r o a n o k e. c o m Under the CFA Bowl highlights entitled "Hokies Roll Vols" look at photo # 31 in the slide show. It shows Kiffin and Beamer locked in a handshake. Kiffin is looking right at Beamer. Beamer is looking at the ground. Don't see the controversy here.

A hokie fan at my office is still "furious" with Lane Kiffin for "disrespecting" Beamer and VT. This guy's a jerk anyway, so it's no big deal.

This is kind of a dead horse. Kiffin can handle himself any way he chooses as long as he's HC. However, everyone that was watching with me that night, commented on how disrespectful the brevity of the greeting was and the facial expression and body language that Kiffin exhibited. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. But if anyone here thinks that Kiffin showed class, I and many, many college football fans outside of TN would disagree. I know that you have to be loyal to your coach, but you also have to be real. Just like with the lick that Tebow put on Berry.

And excessiveness is classy? I think not. Take your psycops elsewhere.

It is not like he sent the team out to dance in the endzone after our first score. Now that would have been classless.
