In the same vein that Beamer stopped and paused as if to say "Kiffin, I care what you think"? Didn't happen.

Maybe it was just me, but something seemed off with Kiffin's demeanor all night. I hope there aren't bigger issues that we don't know about.

imo, it doesn't matter if the other guy is offended or not..the losing coach always has the responsibility to act like a man. I'm not saying lock the guy up and throw away the key, but I think most of us who are parents, to make a point, would advise our kids that they should do more to be big in defeat.

I probably have more respect for the quick handshake than I do the insincere, 2 handed shake accompanied by a meaningless cliche and smile.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. It's not like he like he walked off the field and said "screw it". The way people are acting you would have thought Kiffin flipped Beamer off.

so when the other guy does something juvenile, it justifies my juvenile choice? That's so fifth grade. Yeah so it's football..rough and tough and all that. But the great men of football, past and present, would defend the importance of a "warm handshake."

I would like to have a perfect coach that was really pissed when we lost but also was all warm and fuzzy to the other coach when we lost. However, that isn't what we have so i will deal with a coach that has an absolute passion for winning with no excuses. So he did'nt have any warmth when he shook his hand. I'm f'ing sorry. Beamer is the only one who has a right to be bothered by it and so if it did bother him, he can comment on it. As far as any other fans, theirs or ours, grow a pair.

Go look at the video. They met at midfield. Kiffin congratulated a player. They paused ever so slightly, shook each other's hand and walked past each other. It was as much Beamer's "fault" as it was Kiffin's.

there's a lot of point-missing goint on here, but we still root for the same team, so I will leave it at that. I can only state my opinion. Agree to disagree? Go Vols!

I have seen coaches in many sports just walk off the court or field, and never speak to the opposing coach.

And some of them, won the game.

Maybe he was mad about Beamer complaining to the refs that Jones wasn't actually hurt as he tried to limp off the field. I thought that was pretty disrespectful by a head coach when he was obviously in pain.
