If the Lady Vols claim the forth #1 seed as they are expected to do, they would be placed on UConn's side of the bracket. I expect Pat and the girls to sweep both of the games on their home floor, and it's a safe bet to say they prevail in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. That leaves us with Geno and UConn in the National Semi-final. This is the game ESPN and the whole country want. How big of an impact would UT-UConn match-up have on today's women's basketball landscape? Will the rivarly still have its allure? Would it be the highest-rated women's basketball game of all-time? Interesting questions. Love to hear yall's insight.

IMO, it would be the dream match-up for ESPN because of ratings because without the success of UConn and UT, womens basketball would not be where it is now with so many teams like Duke, Stanford, Texas, etc being real competitive. This match-up is like UNC and Duke meeting up in the national semifinal.

They shouldn't be put in the same side of the bracket. Instead, put them in the opposite sides so that they might meet up in the NC game. THEN it would be something special.

UT will be the 4th 1 seed unless Nebraska gets upset in the Big 12 tournament. That would put them in UCONN's side of the bracket.

Poll ranking doesn't always relate to seeding. They take in strength of schedule and other factors. Don't assume that the Lady Vols will be the 4th 1 seed. They could be placed as the 3rd 1 seed. If the NCAA wants numbers, they will set it up for a possible UT-UCONN final.

You're exactly right on that. The official announcement is still a week off.:good!:

They won't get the 3rd 1 seed if Nebraska finishes the Big 12 tournament still undefeated. UCONN and Stanford are locks to be the 1st and 2nd 1 seeds.

I'm not so sure of that. See the RPI rankings below. I think it's possible to get a better seed than Nebraska.

I think Nebraska gets that #3 seed if they remain undefeated...and they deserve it, IMO. The NCAA also may think that the possibility of having two undefeateds in the finals would be as big as a UT/UCon matchup-minus the hate.

NCAA might have another big name in women's BB along with UT, UCon, Stanford, and a few more depending on the year... if Nebraska could have another couple of seasons like this. And, if they actually win it....whoa!

Their football fans travel as well as any fans in the country...wonder if they will start to have a lot of fans for the NCAA's in women's BB?
