The Draft was sad

I can't vouch for accuracy but one story I read on this pointed out your 2015 incoming class was one of your highest rated. #4 in the country. To not have any of them drafted suggests strongly it was a player development problem from the prior staff.

From what we saw from the draft..What player on this team gonna get drafted? Trey Smith and Ty Chandler and maybe Nigel Warrior because he pops played in NFL..Look foward to seeing alot of free agent deals.

We are reduced to Al Wilson limping out to get a cheer. No vols drafted only sec team ....... laughing stock
Just shows you what kind of mess Pruitt was left with. All these nega Vols like to blame Pruitt for last season. He took a team with no NFL talent and won 5 games with them. Pruitt is recruiting top talent now. Even JJ Watt noticed the kid on stage (who is a Vol committ )

The worst part isn't just this year, it's the fact that this is the third time in the last five years we haven't had a player drafted.
I guess it's probably too much to hope for that this will settle the argument of folks who have insisted that we had lots of talent these last 2 years. Recruiting services have their uses, they tell you what the potential of a player was believed to be the day he graduated high school but they don't take into account 1-4 years of development or in our case lack thereof. At the end of the day always trust your eyes over counting stars.

Honestly who did we believe had a shot of being drafted? I guess Tuttle or Phillips might’ve had an outside shot in the late rounds but that’s all I can think of off hand.
Nobody. It was clear we weren’t gonna have even a single player drafted even though I read on VN that we’d see Phillips and Tuttle, even Alexis Johnson get drafted.

That said, hopefully our UDFAs can make the most of their opportunities and stick with an NFL team....pulling for all of them, especially Kyle Phillips.

Btw, next year’s NFL draft will see a similar thing where Tennessee players are concerned....which is none or very few drafted.

I haven't seen many people blaming CJP for our record last year, I have seen people insist that we were very talented, particularly a lot of the optimists before the season last year. Most of the "Nega Vols" said we didn't and that we would win 4-6 games last year. I thought we'd win up to 7 last year but quickly revised those expectations when I saw how awful our OL was. That was (and still is) a leftover talent problem, it's not on CJP (or even Will Friend), yet.

We were told for Butch's last 2 or 3 years by NFL scouts the Vols were "soft" as a team. That bunch just has to cycle through before it gets better. Sadly Phillips and Tuttle deserved better from our staff especially.

When there's a nuclear blast, there's fall out and suffering long after the initial detonation. We're still suffering from Butch and his genius. Getting closer to flipping this roster, but until we do, his influence and impact will continue to inflict misery on us. Bet Pruitt's first real class will be a different story on draft day.

If it helps, in general, Vols free agents seem to do pretty well in the NFL.

Those are not rivals and it’s says it all that we have to wonder if our signing class is good enough to pull ahead of any of those teams, let alone all 3.
Have you watched Tennessee football the last decade? Those are definitely our rivals. Surely you don't believe Bama, Fla, Ga still consider us rivals do you?
